Topic: The Black Crowes at the Tabernacle in Atlanta last night

This is what I posted on the Black Crowes board:

My journey with this band started at Toads Place in CT in 1992. From there it worked to Bushnell Auditorium Hartford, CT, 1993, New Haven Coliesum, CT, 1995,
Oakdale Theater, CT, 1996.
When I moved to Georgia in 1997, it began at the Fox Theater in 1999, then to Atlanta Civic Center in 2001. It began again at opening night at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, then to the Fox Theater in 2006, then to Chastain Park in 2007, Verizon Amphitheater in 2008, back to Chastain in 2009 and to last night.

12 shows altogether.

I have seen the high and low points. Last night was the high point.

I hope these guys dont dissappear for long.  They are one of the few bands left that plays true rock music with reference points to classic rock of the sixties and seventies.

We know the ages this band draws are wide and varied. From people in their twenties to people in their fifties like myself.  Thats because we are true Amoricans who appreciate a band that taps into the essence of our souls. We should be blessed they have been around this long. For in today's mediocre music scene, who else has anything to say worth a damn?

Only the Crowes can dig deep into a catalog and pull out obscure nuggets from the Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd reminding us of an era where music was at a true zenith.

They have enriched our lives.  May their hiatus be a short one.  We will miss the journeys they have taken us on.

Thank you Black Crowes for twenty wonderful years.
