Topic: Berlin..............Last Night
It took me a while to decide to make the way up to berlin but it was worth the long drive. anyway berlin always worth a visit and with a JB concert the evening its even better. there was nothing new on the setlist compared to the shows before.
as it was my 1st JB concert this year a wanted to see and hear something new. well i saw not so much new, except that wonderfull venue ,which was one of the old berlin theatres. joe spoke about 1700 people and that it was sold out. the venue was very nice, but the security in there were just a bunch of a..................les. if i drive for hours and spend a lot of money for a concert i dont need those guys to tell me what i have to do. i am old enough for that. back to the concert.
sure i dont see joe as much as some of you in here but what has not changed is, that very often the "Band" looks more like a one man show.
joe bonamassa is a fantastic player, outstanding, great, saugeil, hammermäßig, excellent, but for me a bit to much focused on himself sometimes. hard to explain.
during the first half of the concert the rest of the band was more or less decorative accessory. what is a bit sad as they are all very good musicians. it got better at 2nd half were there was more interaction between joe and carmine.
hightlight for me was the intro to sloe gin again, really something that sends shivers up my spine and there is ony a very few bands were i got this. happier times is one of my favourite joe songs and at the end just got paid that really rocks.
what makes surprise each time i see him is how fast and at the same time how crystal the tunes come out. as i was in front row it was watching his fingers and at the same time got that tune in the ear or sometimes just close the eyes and flow.
very nice concert and thanx to the Whole Band for the evening.
