I think there are quite a few of us who would fight over it!

Thanks to everyone for all the good stories about the weekend in Holland - it is so cool to hear about everyone's "adventures."  Time to come up with a good excuse for another get-together.

Sandy

Breathing returning now, cough, cough , ahem, cough!!! Tonight should be a good one, Sandy! Check out the introductions, a grandpa is bringing his 7 year old grandson hoping to get the kid's guitar signed.... wink

Re: Carre Amsterdam 11-7

About Carpets:
Not to be drawing any undue comparisons, but when I'm offering critiques of great performances to my 7 year old grandson ( a budding guitar player himself ), I like to point out that you can tell a great deal about the worth of a guitarist by the number and size of the oriental carpets on stage.
Case in point:
Eric Clapton playing on the Crossroads Festival stage: 1 rug.
Joe Bonamassa (and EC!) on the Royal Albert Hall stage: 9 rugs.
Joe goes to 9! (or is it just a British thing?)
All kidding aside, both gentlemen paint a profoundly inspirational picture, both on stage, and off.

Hahahahhaaaaaaaaah! Geweldig grrrrrrrrappig Pieter!
So much fun to read this story!!!!
Never sell it on ebay! Put it on the floor of your living (never to be removed) and tell your grandkids later how it got there!!!

Wow! I've read a lot of great reviews and stories on here and this ranks right up there with the best  cool   From this "40 something" fan it was sure great to hear the excitement from a "20 something" fan smile This also belongs in the "Might Be a Joe Addict" topic, I feel certain no one has ever added "I left the show with the carpet"  lol

For 3 years minus 3 months I lived in Curacao, where, as you might imagine, Joe never performed.

LUCKY YOU! I would love to imagine seeing Joe there! I was there in December one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean I cannot wait to go back. A Joe show there would be the ultimate vacation  cool

Joe has played in the Caribbean before.  A Dutch treat even! Not that far south though! St. Maarten's!!!

Me too.
All the day I had a foolish grin in my face.
Okay, I'm not getting tired of grinning since last weekend.

Re: Carre Amsterdam 11-7

Seems this was indeed the right place for the story smile

@#1kyfan
Just 20 smile And I'm pretty sure I'm a Joe addict, on any scale measurable smile When I decided to buy a (simple and cheap) electric guitar, I was adamant it be a Gold les paul model tongue (obviously for it to somewhat match Joe's signature LP)

@rocket
I had no idea he played in St Maarten, it still isn't as close as you might think though.. a ticket will easily cost you 300 dollars. I surely would have considered it though..

I'm glad you liked curacao! It's a lovely little island

Re: Carre Amsterdam 11-7

A little off-topic:

having "met" you nice people here, I want to make sure you all know these songs:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJjErCwQTY8
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6y2QcYnsOGc

I once found them on the web and liked them very much!! They seem to be rather rare, bonus tracks on the Japanese release of Black Rock and chains and things supposedly was on john henry as a bonus as well..

Anyway, I uploaded them for people to listen:) everyone should have the chance to enjoy his music.. I add once more, hopefully I'm not breaking some copyright law... I would hate it to 'hurt' Joe's business wink
