I don't think that message from Joe implied in any way that he was going to sell any of his guitars, only that he was done adding anymore to his collection.

that's what I read into too

"if" he does sell em, would be nice if forum members got first shot

or auction em off

it's really cool to like watch a DVD, and actually be playing the
actual guitar on the DVD

Trust me...I own this Richie Sambora guitar, and it is the same
one on the Crush DVD...it is cool

some pics below

Read again, because he did actually sell some this past weekend. I don't blame him a bit for selling some (or all) of them. I can also understand why he would want to do it without trying to market them and have to answer questions about "why this" or "why that", and "since I'm a board member can you give me a special deal?" or whatever might come up.

If the mere mention of selling some guitars brings this kind of scrutiny, can you imagine what it would be like if he announced it, published a catalog and set prices? The world would go upside down with a hundred second guessers coming out of the woodwork to critique every guitar, to argue about every story and give examples of them being too cheap or too high. All the while the man might be just trying to thin the herd a little.

I'm with jim m on this one as well. Goldie hasn't sold yet, and I hope Joe decides to keep it - or maybe even let his Dad keep it for him. He plays so many different guitars that there are only a couple that are closely associated with Joe and that is one of them, IMO.

Keep it Joe, or give it to Len.

I know of a store where Richie trades some of his stuff in

it's outside of L.A.

was a great find, I really like that DVD, and the sunburst one on it
is one of my favorites, have been trying to acquire it for some time
but the white one is way cool

he played "Born To Be My Baby" and "One Wild Night" on the Crush
DVD....and yes I play along with it, on the same guitar...too cool

Now if only I could be playing "You Upset Me" with the Gold Strat :-)

Yikes !
I don't want to see the world go upside down either
I'm afraid of heights and don't want to fall off

Well, the good news about this "kind of scrutiny" ... it means you have
fans and people like you

Re: Joe...Say it Aint So....The Gold Strat ????

I still have the gold stratocaster here at my house... I had a small garage sale this weekend in Dallas to basically relieve not only myself but my beautiful girlfriend from living in a House of Guitars..  Im keeping the bulk of the 200 I have but some are going to make more room in our house.  I also feel if I hadnt played them in years mind you, that someone else can enjoy them.  So thats the story there all my main studio and live guitars approx 180 are still with me and will remain.. I just couldnt justify having so many anymore... I was hoping to keep it quiet but I guess its out.. My Friend at Eliot at Rumbleseat music bought most of them.. I wasnt there to see them go and they all went to a good home.  The silly thing is I bought most of those guitars from him when I was a kid.. Full Circle I guess..
Thanks Joe Bonamassa

Re: Joe...Say it Aint So....The Gold Strat ????

And that is the rest of story!!!  Thanks Joe for clarifying...

Music is good for the Soul...
