Topic: And now for some good news.....

Some of you might remember my great nephew Nathan who has been battling childhood Leukemia for several years now. Well, with fingers crossed, he is now done with chemotherapy. Here's his website on Caring Bridge:

Sometimes when I get down and I can't see the good in life, I think of this little guy and I find that what I was worried or upset about is really nothing as compared to what Nathan has gone through in his short life. Makes me wake up and smell the roses! wink

Thanks to all of you that have said prayers and sent well wishes to Nathan and his family.

That was great news and our entire family is elated! You know, after losing my dad to brain cancer in 1976 and my best friend Jeff to Leukemia last year, it's really fantastic to see a little trooper like Nathan turn the corner against this dreaded disease. I hope someday, and it would be great if I could see it, we could put an end to the big "C"!

Here's a bit of an update on my great nephew Nathan who beat back not only a chest tumor, but also childhood Leukemia.

Thanks everyone, Nathan is the definition of a real "Trooper"! wink He's also received a few things from some pretty famous people too. Not sure Joe would remember this, but he once signed a CD over to Nathan and wrote something special on it. When I gave it to him and explained who it was from, Nathan and his mom had to go over and check out Joe on YouTube. He was starry eyed to think the fellow performing on the video actually wrote something to him on the CD. cool Some of you might remember this, but Nathan also was presented with this fellows wrist bands too which really made his day! http://cdnphotos.caringbridge.org/3/8/2 … PZBvvN.jpg

What a remarkable young man Nathan is!!  I can't believe how much he has grown, but that's an understatement because he has grown more than just physically. I think of all the sad things that pull on my heartstrings, a sick child handed a tough deck of cards is always sad, but I am so glad to hear Nathan is doing well.  smile
