Topic: Walter Trout

We've had all kinds of short 'Walter playing here or there' topics, but we've (apparently) never had one real, proper 'Walter Trout' topic.

So here it is. I know that there are tons of Walter fans on the forum, and in view of the fact that this man is certainly a (maybe minor) legend in our musical world, I think he deserves his own appreciation topic.

Walter is, quite simply, so much fun! I'm always smiling when I watch him. I love his playing! Walter rocks! Walter is cool as s%$#!  cool

Re: Walter Trout

One of the YT classics there George. Two great players having fun. Walter is a staple and has been doing it for a long time. His tone is a bit shrill for me but he can pick with the best. A great body of work out there with a lot of variation to enjoy.

You agreed with me Günter regarding this album on another thread and now I'll agree with you, a very good album. smile

Walter is also one of the nicest, most down to Earth people you could meet. And he shares his admiration and friendship with my little buddy. As he said to Tallan's dad one day, "Any time I'm in town make sure Tallan has his guitar along, we'll make a spot for him." cool

Just like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDdtsnDpb3Q

P.S. By the way, saw Tallan this past weekend and I should have some new video to share later in the week. wink

Re: Walter Trout

A blinding gig in Aberdeen last night. The new songs are very strong and fit in well with the older songs. Well worth seeing again.

Hello Kenny.

Glad you enjoyed Aberdeen.

Did he play "Marie's Mood"?
I read somewhere that he had played it somewhere in the US and it went down a storm!
It is one of my favourites...and I'm hoping to hear it at Milton Keynes or Frome..

Didn't play that one Linda. Finished with a rousing Red House though.

Re: Walter Trout

A quick search would have turned this up on the very next page.  wink

Oh yeah, Walter is a good guy in every sense and always puts on a great show!

Here's one from your back yard George. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLUTFxqN … re=related
He is touring here in Socal in December after his swing through Europe and we'll get to see him again. Last shot was the Belly Up. Great showman.

I think every show is up in Orange and L.A. Counties this time.  Looks like I MIGHT actually have a decent shot of finally seeing a performance of his.  Never have yet, although knowing what he looks like I believe I saw the man at an early Joe gig long ago, as an audience member not on stage.

Re: Walter Trout

Well, December never panned out for Walter & Me, but with Black Country Communion & Me in the Black Country and beyond...who cared?!
Did get to see Walter here in San Diego when the rare Saturday night when I ain't got nobody and some money cousin I Just Got Paid and not having my nose to the grindstone, I was actually able to attend this Saturday's blues rocking time with Walter and the guys.  Don't know what Greenose's complaint about the guitar tech playing acoustic, certainly more than 3 chords (???where did he get that????)-it was some mighty fine picking and I could hear it even over the Mesa with it's 4 12 inchers blasting only 8 feet away (with my head and ears centered smack dab in the middle of the sound field, about 110 dBA's and oh, no baffling!)

Oh yeah, does anyone except Alice Cooper wonder how these 2 guys were let in?!  Strange coinkydinks always abound around...You & Me!  Well, me at least!  How big is YOUR world? How small is OUR world?!

It has been nominated for a Handy Award, Günter!  If you or anyone is a member of The Blues Foundation (you can join if not) you might want to vote for Walter!
