Re: Marcus Bonfanti

NPayne,

I watched the vid and thought the video was just ok.  Marcus's music on the other hand is pretty good.  I'll be giving him a more serious listen soon - liked the song in the video and "Diamond In the Rust" and "Now I'm Gone".  Thanks for the heads-up!

Re: Marcus Bonfanti

I heard Marcus on Paul Jones show on Monday night, the song he played was a little like David Gogo. I thought it was pretty good! smile

Re: Marcus Bonfanti

Marcus is in session on Paul Jones show tonight at 7pm BBC Radio 2, have a listen and see what you think.  He has been described as a cross between Seasick Steve and Jack Johnson

I heard him on Paul Jones tonight and thought he was very good. Didn't realise he is only 26.

Tripsy smile

Re: Marcus Bonfanti

An amazing talent , spoke to him recently and he is going to be on my friends radio show soon . Filmed him a couple of weeks ago and will be again soon. Both cd's are excellant. I'm a massive fan

Re: Marcus Bonfanti

I love his guitar playing as well as his voice. He might be my "discovery" of the year.

I like his laid back style. Listen to the song Now I'm Gone (Is Your Life Better?). That's how I would like my guitar (and my guitar playing wink ) to sound.

Great stuff!

Re: Marcus Bonfanti

He supported Sandi Thomon her last tour. I think he used to be in her band at one time???

you've gotta love an artist that smiles as much as he does when playing!

Judging from Marcus' songs, I wouldn't have expected that he smiles so much on stage. He sounds so serious and thoughtful when he sings.

BTW: Nice videos, Ian.

I got into him through my boss, and saw him live at my work. He's coming back and I have taken the evening off to see him! I quite like his take on acoustic blues, as opposed to electric blues that we hear all too often these days (not that I'm complaining)! Certainly one to watch, and if you get the chance to see him, do! He's supporting Philip Sayce on his upcoming UK Tour, so I'll be seeing him three times this year!

Hey, if it's the Glasgow show this Friday at Maggie Mays you are going to CIG, I'll probably be there too! Big fan of Marcus and that Resonator of his! smile

Re: Marcus Bonfanti

I saw Marcus and his band in Glasgow on Friday night, was a really good show. He'd been put on with two average rock bands, the usual types who bring a dozen excited friends... Anyway the room filled will before Marcus came on, and they played a loud upbeat set which won many fans. Marcus was very pleased to see such a young crowd enjoy the blues and long may it continue. He might be Britain's best chance to do so! smile
Looking forward to seeing him again with Sayce next month - that tour is a must see for any self respecting UK Bonamassa fan!
