Topic: What is it?
I've always wondered what that instrument is in the beginning of the "Sanford and Son" theme. Does anyone know? That is the craziest sounding instrument. It can't be a harmonica.

Could it be a clavinet? I think I know the sound you're wondering about and it's the same sound I remember from Billy Preston's hit "Outta Space". I looked up Billy Preston in wikipedia and found a reference to the clavinet. Sound samples for the clavinet can be found here: http://www.gti.net/junebug/clavinet/sounds.html
