Topic: New Member from Glasgow :).

Hey everyone, been readin these forums for a while, and I thought it was about time I signed up.

My names Darren, and I've been listening to JB for a couple of year now, but only just released how big a following he had online tongue. I'll haven't seen him live yet (mostly due to none of my mates/family being interested), but I've given in and I'm going to go see him at the RCH in October, even if I end up sitting on my todd lol.

Good theres a place I can talk about the blues without anyone going "Eh? Isn't that the music old guys listen to?".

Cheers smile.

Hang by the bus after the show. Joe usually comes out to see the fans. Welcome to the forum!
Old, young, in the middle, we welcome all here. Be sure and post a report after you lose your Bonavirginity. We feed on those.  smile As has been said many times, the live Joe is another thing entirely! cool

Hi Darren.

Well done for getting your ticket. You won't notice that you are on your tod once Joe gets on stage - you'll be so engrossed. I went to Rotherham on my own in May and was so absorbed that I didn't notice that I had no company!!

Enjoy your first time...and may it be the first of many!!

Linda.

Welcome Darren, I do know how you feel. As a rather youngish Joe B fan it can be a struggle to get friends interested who assume that 'blues' is old music. I'm sure though there are people you know who would love to hear of Joe, so keep working at spreading the word. I've been to many gigs on my own and if they are as good as Joe you won't feel lonely for long! smile I'm sure there will be a few of us from the forum seeing Joe in Glasgow anyway!  big_smile

Yep Sue & I are travelling up via Manchester and Newcastle so we'll be around before the show with a bit of luck. Have to do some work whilst I'm in the area, but hey that's what pays for the hotel rooms I guess. If this is your first show, be prepared to completely readjust your perspectie on live music, particularly Joe's interpretation of the blues. I forsee more young people jumping on board once they get to see him live - truly a jaw dropping experience.
