yes, Yes, YES!! Probably my favorite tournament of the year. Would love to make the trip someday just to be there.
However, can't complain too much becuase the PGA Championship will be in my part of the world this year: http://www.pga.com/pgachampionship/2010/index.cfm
I'm hoping to take my daughter Sarah for a dad/daughter day out at the links watching the greatest goldfers in the world.

Rory Mcllroy had a great day. John Daly looked like a bafoon, but also had a great day.
But... the Open ain't the Open with good weather. Need rain & wind to really challenge these guys. First day leader at -9 just ain't right.
Gee, I looked at the leader board and it sure appears the Old Course lifter her skirt today for the lads. As you said Michael, give 'em a little weather and the whole thing will change.

Two opposing halves today made it tough for late starters. The nice balmy weather turned nasty for the last half and the course came alive with the old mean streak. Tomorrow promises bad weather and the blazing low scores will probably disappear. Rain in the morning followed by clearing but windy. There'll be lots of shots in the gorse.

This will make you go a little 'green' then Roy..... I was fortunate to play at St Andrews in my early 20's, not the old course, sadly! I was a guest of a family member. Can't remember what my score was now.... something stupid.... but it was fun.

Brack, no envy here, I'm just happy you had the chance. I would so love to someday play some of the great courses in Scotland, Ireland and England. The Seaside links are something to treasure and truly, the way Golf should be played. No overly planted, tree lined fairways, but wide open Golf with hump, bumps, punishing sand traps, where the wind is allowed to blow free and unobstructed. Now THAT's Golf! I've always enjoyed playing when the weather isn't at it's best, makes for more thought prior to the shot. This is why I truly love this tournament, you just never know what might happen.
This is also why I'm glad to see that not only the PGA Championship is returning to Whistling Straits this year, but in 2020 the Ryder Cup will be played on the Straits too. Is is so very much like the Seaside courses. I've been to two tournaments their already, both the PGA in 2004 and the 2007 U.S. Senoir Open. When I first stepped onto the course, it felt like I was walking on the moon, because it was so differnet than most American courses. I loved the look and feel, but can't even imagine trying to play it.

Granted, he's had more than his fair share of problems (putting it mildly). But despite all of that, he's still got two majors in his pocket. I think that's pretty impressive, actually. Tiger Woods sleeps with a couple of chicks and has a wreck and his life is falling apart. John Daly calls that Tuesday.

Listened to a great analysis yesterday. The biggest deal is the fact that Monty got to choose and tailor the course as defender. Narrow fairways to take away the big hitters on the US side and take it to a short game where the Euros have an advantage. The crap weather also is usual for the course this time of year. I think the fix is in and for the US to overcome will take a real bit of luck. (and some great play!) USA USA USA

We need to have some Tom Watson in this one, the man could play under any conditions and generally came out on top.
I guess you don't win 5 Opens and nearly win your 6th at age 60, unless you can do it all!
