Topic: Jonny Blaylock

I assume that we oursevles can count as an "other artist" if we post our music in this thread.

Here's a little guitar Jam I did a while ago. Recorded the rythm and lead seperatly, with my strat and my tele.

Enjoy... or not...

Here's to a long life and a merry one. A quick death and an easy one. A pretty girl and an honest one. A cold beer and another one!

Re: Jonny Blaylock

I did listen to it J, I'm sure that you spent some time getting it like you wanted. Honestly, I think it is just OK, not anything really special. You need to understand that some of us here are well over 50 years old, and have heard nearly everybody from A-Z. When you have listened to that much music through the years you tend to get a little picky. I'm critical sometimes on Joe's music, but it is because he has spoiled us rotten. It takes years and years of playing, and playing a lot just like golf, to get really good. My hands gave out to arthritis before I could become even an average player.
Do not give up, never give up, keep practicing and listening to other artists. Stay here and learn all you can, seriously.

Thanks. Actualy, it was a two take one-taker (one take on each guitar  big_smile  )
I don't like doing a whole bunch of takes until I get it just right. I like the organic nature of a one take recording, not a pieced together thing. If you piece it together, then you will only dissapoint when you play live.

Look at Joe, when he plays live his solos are flawless, like they are on the record. I don't know, but I always just assume he doesn't piece together his solos in the studio. I may be wrong, but even so - whether he does or doesn't, the fact is, he doesn't need to. When he plays live, he plays flawless.

Of course, mine is not flawless, but it wouldn't be flawless live either; I like to represent myself accurately.

Thanks for the comment though.
