I listened to both songs and would have to say they're just okay.  His guitar playing is nice, but nothing out of the ordinary.  The vocals were probably the biggest distraction because he's just speaking the words rather than singing.  Sorry if that's not the impression you were hoping for.

He certainly listened to a fair share of Santana (which is great). I agree with Curby: it's nice but nothing outrageously extraordinary. I don't mean to be blasé about it but "the best solo ever made" is a bit of an exaggeration. Having said that, we do live in an age of superlatives and I like his tone and phrasing.
Gear? Can't see very well. You can't go wrong with a Les Paul. Is that some Fender Tweed he's playing?

Yeah, liked him. As well as a Santana influence, i also heard a Gary Moore influence as well. He had good tone out of his Les Paul.
