Topic: Hi there, im new here

My names matt and as the name suggests i am a guitar player who is completely and utterly inspired by joe's playing, and i have taken note of every interview i can find to make me a better player.
I have a video of me playing Joe's song, Django, along with the "live from nowhere inparticular album", i was hopeing that some of you guys could have a listen n watch and let me know if you think my homage is good enough. and even if the great man himself could take a look and give me his thoughts, it would mean the world to me.
any way.....im rambling... tongue
hope you all enjoy my video

Re: Hi there, im new here

Hi Matt - Nice playing on that vid! Good feeling and tone...(nice guitar too!)...Congrats.

Take a look at Joe playing this on the Albert Hall DVD.  Whenever he goes up to the high 'D', Joe changes position from the 9th fret and plays this note and the subsequent bends on the 'B' string, and not the 'E' string.  This gives a unique flavour to this note.

One of Joe's strengths, and one of the reason I really admire him and try to learn from his playing is that he doesn't stick to the regulation 'box' shapes but moves around the neck to create tonal changes and interest.
