Topic: Stoney LaRue

I got a little OT on another thread last night pointing out real country music is far from dead.  I've always liked the genre because the songs  told a story.  For some reason these songs comfort me and I like the way the lyrics are plainly written.  I think I've mentioned before that Stoney is my favorite singer.  This guy reminds me that music is very much alive and well.  Two years ago on April the 24th I got a call at 1am telling me to get my wife to Indianapolis.  The hospital had found a donor for her diseased lungs and the company I worked for provided their plane to get us there asap.  After an eleven hour surgery the real business of living started and I'll tell you, her and I were traveling on a very bumpy road.  During those early days I prayed alot and I listened to my music on my iPod to calm me.  One song kept getting repeated because it summed up my simple feelings for my wife.  That song was "Feet Don't Touch the Ground".  Sometimes I cry when listening to it, but friends those are good tears and I'm so blessed to have her "by my side".

Here's a video of the song with lyrics.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMGuUyB3D30

Re: Stoney LaRue

That's a very nice song Curby. Yes, we who are so blessed to have a special one can relate.
