Topic: Aynsley Lister - The Tower Sessions

I know Aynsley Lister has quite a few fans on Joe's forum, not least those that got the chace to see him perform at Dingwalls last year, the night prior to Joe's RAH gig.

I thought you might like to know about Aynsley's new album "The Tower Sessions" which is soon to be released.
The Album encapsulates the best bits of the setlists that fans will have experienced at his gigs over the last year.
It was recorded recently as a "live take" in the Tower venue in Winchester (although without an audience). Those of you who had seen Aynsley live will know that the live arrangements of his songs have that something extra so here's your chance to have a record of that. I believe there are probably two or three previously unrecorded tracks included, one of those being Aynsley's stunning rendition of "Purple Rain" (Prince - eat your heart out baby!).

Pre orders will be available from May 5th, but can be ordered now from http://www.manhatonrecords.com/newreleases.php
The album will not be available from anywhere else until June 14th.

And don't forget to listen to the exclusive interview with Aynsley on the Varmint show tomorrow (friday 23rd April) on http://www.10radio.2md.co.uk/index.php?page=Listen  10 pm GMT where amongst other topics, Aynsley will be talking about the new album.

Re: Aynsley Lister - The Tower Sessions

This album arrived a few days ago and I can say it really is good. What I like is that it showcases both sides of Aynsley in a very good way, it has the blues songs of his earlier albums and the more contemporary songs together side by side and provides a balance of both presenting the best about his music. There’s certainly no attempt to disguise his blues roots with Soundman, Sugar Low opening the door and Quiet Boy! following Purple Rain as the first four songs. It’s clearly a band effort with great pictures of each band member by top Dutch photographer Marco. A great release for the fans and also probably the best starting point for people unfamilar with Aynsley to find out what he’s all about!

"The recently formed Edinburgh Blues Club has identified an appetite for the personal communication between musicians and audience that the blues long ago perfected." The Herald Newspaper (Scotland)
