Re: Greetings from the Mojave Desert

Welcome Bookman46. Lots of seasoned veterans hereabouts so you are in good company. No matter how late you discover Joe and his music, it is never too late!. We're a nosy bunch so tell us a bit more about yourself and how you discovered Joe.

Re: Greetings from the Mojave Desert

Yeah, it's not when you discover him, it's that you HAVE discovered him...now you just need to go thru the ritual of buying all his back catalog including his 3 dvd's. It is a real treat hearing that much good music...it takes about a good year...and it's very rewarding!

Oh Bookman, you're hooked and you don't even know it!  Besides buying all the CD's and DVD's, you'll be scanning the tour list and finding yourself going places you would never have imagined just to get your JB fix.  Might as well add "Following Joe Bonamassa" to the list of hobbies on your resume, it's a lifetime sport, not a fad.  The secondary hobby of awakening others to the discovery of Joe is pretty darn fun, too - slap on the Royal Albert Hall DVD when unsuspecting folks are over and prepare to be amazed at the amazement.  Welcome!

Re: Greetings from the Mojave Desert

Yep, I'm a semi newbie too but I have to agree with the above posts....You'll be spending some time with Joe and his music....In the short couple of months since I discovered Joe...I joined the street team, attended a show and bought Black Rock and a few back catalog cds and the RAH dvd and some shirts to boot! Welcome aboard!

Re: Greetings from the Mojave Desert

I was actually looking for some blues by another artist on Amazon when I saw his new album advertised.  I listened a few of his songs and was immediately hooked!  I have already purchased 5 of his CD's and can't stop listening!!!  He is incredible, hope he comes to the left coast sometime!  Any of you pickers know the chords to "Last Kiss"?
Thanks, Sam

P.S.
What's the Street Team?

Re: Greetings from the Mojave Desert

Not a picker here Bookman,  but if you post that request on the gear section, I'm sure you will find what you need. I can see now that you are seriously infected and I regret to inform you there is no cure, just maintenance by more infusions of Joe.

Re: Greetings from the Mojave Desert

I just ordered a t-shirt.  "I'm An Addict"!!!!!!

Re: Greetings from the Mojave Desert

This is so inspiring! I always must take the opportunity to point out to all new Joe fans my favorite 2 pieces of work...the Rockpalast dvd and ANDY Live(the disc I refer to as the 71 minute guitar solo w/vocal) These are both exceptionally sick examples of his prowess!!

Re: Greetings from the Mojave Desert

Man!  Is there anything that he doesn't do great???

Re: Greetings from the Mojave Desert

You might as well order all of the rest of Joe's material (The 3 DVDs and which ever CDs you haven't ordered as yet). Also be on the lookout for the Bloodline CD (circa 1993). It's long out of production, but you can still find it on EBay, Craig's list, etc.  That was Joe's first real band - he wasn't doing vocals back then, just guitar. Back when he was a teenager he earned his nickname of "Smokin Joe". Keep an eye out on the tour page for the next time he will be appearing near you. I must warn you - the good seats go very quickly so be vigilant! Welcome aboard Sam!

Major Tom to ground control...

Re: Greetings from the Mojave Desert

Sorry, no one one answered your ?? from above.....Street team is the official/unofficial fan based effort to promote Joe's music....see the street team portion of the website (bottom of the home page). He has a number of folks in his Boca Raton office that help co-ordinate promoting Joe and his Music. Melissa and Rodger Rock!!
