i dont know if your watch is running slow but the show didnt start untill 5 after eight . i know this because i was taping the show and i know joe likes to start playing before he come on the stage so i wanted to start my recorder early and when i looked at my phone for the time it was 2 minutes after 8 . so i started to recorded and i would say two minutes later the show started .
Nope, my watch wasn't running slow but I appreciate your concern . I'm sure being from NY, this isn't your first concert in the city and you can appreciate that 99% of concerts do not start at the stroke of 8:00 (or whatever time is printed on the ticket). NYC is a tough place to get anywhere on time due to traffic, subway delays, congestion etc. and usually this is taken into consideration. I wasn't bitching, just making the comment that it started far earlier than I expected. My disappointment lasted a total of 2 seconds as I quickly became swept away in the music.
As someone else politely pointed out, Joe likes to start his shows right on time so I only blame myself for not being in the know. Was your post intended to also be a polite FYI, or a sarcastic flame on a new member? It came off as the latter.
He was not flaming you. joebeacon is fastidious and prolific when it comes to recording musical performances. He is not being argumentative either. Not his style. I'll let him speak for the polite FYI or not part, but I know he wasn't being sarcastic, just mentioning he was there, checking his watch based on his experience with Joe's habit of on time delivery-it's really his trademark almost. If he is ready to go on and the show is ready to go on and the time on the bill, tickets, and wristwatch are ready, get ready because he is hitting it. I'm not flaming either, that is definitely need to know and remember information. He is anxious to put on a show and I think it's a fair thing to do and it's a fair warning to everyone, Joe Bonamassa comes to play, and like a scheduled space launch, all clocks should be synchronized and zero means LIFTOFF, he isn't wasting a New York minute. By the way, this joebeacon guy will very, very likely have his recording of the show available and you can see and hear what you missed!
