Anyone from here going to Manchester on Monday to see Davy?
Geez, Geoff - looks like you'll be having a party of one! I would love to join you, but I have to work Monday, so no chance. Have fun, and tell Davy that Mr Meerkat says hello.
And tell that boy to book some dates in the States - you guys seem to be having all the luck this year.
Sandy
Well I know that Tripsy and Maggie will be there so you won't all alone, Geoff. Have a great time and i want to hear all about it. Don't wear Davy out before he gets to London.
Phil
Not me, I'll be seeing Davy and the guys tonight with Tom (trdb) and Colin (Millhouse)!!
I am going to manchester and to birmingham the night after going to get my fill while he's here.
Yes it's great to finally have him here, I remember too well it was myself, Geoff and Simon who were the regular posters on the old Back Door Slam forum- we will also see Davy in the next 48 hours! At last this time has come!
Have fun at the shows everyone, wish I was going to be there, first round would be on me. And for the Manchester show, remember to keep your eye out for another "friend" in the audience.

OK Roy, I'll hold you to that. Mine's a Pint of Bitter, Sue will have a Vodka and J2O, Ian a Lager, Tony a Bitter, Chris (Tripsy) a Vodka and Coke and I guess Maggie will have anything! I'll send you the bill, my paypal account is fine - you have my e-mail address! Sooooo looking forward to this gig! Hope it's not a short one!
Hey Geoff,
We are going too! Any idea on the photo policy? Are you taking the new camera??
See you later!!

Yep, it's first time out for a concert, should be interesting. See you there!
Hey Geoff and everyone else, found this little bit on Facebook today. It's a new song from last night's gig at King Tut's in Glasgow. Sounds like a fabulous Blues tune to me. Too bad it cuts off at the end......it's called "Worried Down".......

ed, you also forgot to point out that Scotland (at the moment) is still part of Great Britain.
If I survive GM tonight, it's Davy tomorrow. Can't wait.
I expect a full report of last night's proceedings on my desk by midday.

Phil your deadline has passed. Sack them all!
Without being too pedantic I'd say you were both wrong I would say that unless there are huge geograhical changes like a flooding of the river Tweed, Scotland will always be part of Britain, which is an island rather than a county. Whether Scotland forever remains in the UK is perhaps open to question longterm.
Looking forward to the next lot of Davy reviews. I read on facebook Tony Knowles, Davy's dad was at the show!
Finally....we got our chance to see Davy. What a brilliant night. I only have one complaint and that is .......it was over much too quickly!
We had a similar set to the one in Manchester but no Messin' With The Kid. The crowd absolutely loved every minute. Davy was on fine form, his marvellous voice fuelled only by cups of tea....very rock 'n' roll
Ty Bailey was not in attendance on the keyboard which was a shame but as a trio they were awesome anyway.
There was quite a gathering of Bonabuds there too. Maggie and I, Geoff, Sue, Pete 59, Lucky Simon, Kay and Rus and PaulB74. Sorry for not recognising you Paul, we were introduced by Duncan at Dingwalls last May (you tell me) and I didn't know who you were last night. I will definitely recognise you next time we meet....promise
We also met Tony Knowles and had a brief chat. Such a lovely fella....I can see where Davy gets his charm from
I do have some videos to upload. The lighting was pretty dim but the sound was really good.
Here's the first one
Tear Down The Walls http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62FQ_IO3GdY
Tripsy
What can I say except that I was there and agree with everything Tripsy has written
Mine's an orange juice please Geoff, cider for Tripsy
Had a brilliant night and feel another 'must see again' moment coming on

Tripsy
Glad you all had a wonderful time and I know exactly how you feel Tripsy, Tony is a wonderful fellow. And I'm very much enjoying the first ever, professionally done, Tripsy video of Davy Knowles & Back Door Slam.
Geoff, I'll have to pick up that round at a later date.
By the way, if anyone wants to comment about the shows, you can also make a comment on the Slammer website which is here:

You would need to register which is no big thing and I would suspect you might recognise a few posters on there too.

Nice review Tripsy, but surely you mean Glasgow here, you were in Manchester!
