Topic: Hello from Edmond!

Hi all,

I live in Edmond, OK, and I've been a Joe B. fan ever since I discovered his music back in the fall of 2008. Didn't know how much I loved blues-rock until I saw and heard Joe play! Since then, I've done quite a bit of research and reading online to learn more about the man and his background and I've noticed that, inevitably, there are folks out there who try to compare his skills to this or that great blues player or guitarist, contemporary or otherwise. I've searched out and listened to a few of these musicians on sites like youtube and I've come to one overriding conclusion. It's possible that some of these people (who I'll not mention by name since that's not the purpose of this post) could be more accomplished guitarists or are better technically or have better tone or whatever .... with no background in music, I certainly am not one to judge. But the fact is that Joe Bonamassa plays the kind of music that appeals to ME personally and I'm just glad that I've been able to discover it for myself. Saw his show two nights ago in OKC, absolutely loved it, and can't wait to do it again! Hope you liked the pics I posted!

Welcome PathMan. You can find all kinds of comparisons and detractors on the web. The bottom line to me is the music Joe generates. You listened and enjoyed. Nothing else matters. Join the throng here and keep it coming. Your pictures were great.

You get right down to the heart of the matter Path Man...it's YOUR heart that matters.  That's the crux of the argument against those who would argue.   Do I like it?  Does your mouth or pen or keyboard change that at all? NO! So, shuddup and let me enjoy MY music.  Hope you have started looking further into Joe Bonmassa's music.   We are a pretty intense bunch on here, and enjoy Joe immensely.   Welcome aboard, stick around!
