Topic: New Member here
Thought I would take some time to properly introduce myself, posted a few times and was told it may be a good idea!
My name is Seth Gibson, I don't know why that doesn't show up when I post, but oh well. I'm a 20 year old working musician in Arizona. I play basically anything and everything that will get some gigs, though as you may have guessed, blues/rock is really my thing. Not only am I a huge fan of Joe's, but he's a huge influence to my playing as I'm sure he is to others.
First time I saw Joe was kind of by chance. I was dying to see a good blues/rock show back in 2008 and read a nice review of his last album in some guitar magazine. While checking the listings for shows on ticketmaster, I noticed he was coming, so I bought a few tickets for his show at the Tempe Center for the Arts. My first time hearing him was live, and I was absolutely blown away. The next day I bought every album of his I could find at the small town record store near my house. Since then I've been listening to and learning his stuff as often as I can. Been checking this forum for a while now (the show reviews section is downright awesome!) and decided to make an account since I'm seeing him tomorrow night in Phoenix and intend to write a review. Really hoping for more Black Rock stuff, but anything will be quite the treat for us here in Az! On a separate point, I don't know why the best bands (Joe, Gov't Mule, Derek Trucks) insist on so rarely coming here. The fan base is awesome! Anyway, glad to be a part of this awesome forum! Thanks to everyone who participates, it's truly a great community for fans to share some really great things.
