My cousin Mark who I hold personaly responsible for my music addiction attended the Bend show on Sunday. His wife Barb along with 2 local musicians and a couple of guys he works with also came along. I wanted to be there when he had his bonabaptism. It took me a few years to get him to realize that I could actually recomend an artist that he would approve of being his younger cousin.
It started with NWIP I got him to listen a couple of years ago then sent him the RAH DVD. His wife had been complaing about what a pest he had become insisting on everyone that came to visit sit down and watch it. So he has witnessed Joe in the flesh and I think he may have it as bad as anybody here. He called today because the whole town is a buzz. It is a small town and everybody knows everybody.
I haven't seen him this excited about a band since Led Zeppelin I We saw them in 1970 together. He has been a long time Jethro Tull fan and his only dissapointment was no ANDY in the set. The cool thing about Joe is no matter how much you hype the live performance Joe always delivers and sends people home blown away.
When he called today he had bumped into an usher from the theatre. The guy had recognized Mark from the sound check and stopped him on the street to tell him that since that theatre was opened that that was the best show he had ever seen there or anywhere.
I don't think Bend Oregon will ever be the same. It got Bonamatized.
