what pray tell is extreme country?

Re: tele time ?

Ha. Something I call his stuff really.  Briliant playing.  First time I heard him doing this I couldn't believe that he was then Marilyn Manson's guitarist. Take a look at this:

what about PRS guitars? anyone here a fan or not?

PRS makes an absolutely beautiful guitar...almost too refined for my tastes though.  I also prefer the Gibsons shorter scale length.  They are pretty but I never liked the finishes on the PRS guitars I've tried - too thick in my opinion.  I always perceived that a lot of lost tone was buried under there somewhere.  I prefer the tone and feel of a nitrocellulose finish.  However, I've read recently that PRS now offers nitro finishes on some of their newer guitars...I will have too try one of these out one day.

Re: tele time ?

Another nice guitar to have around is an old Danelectro with lipstick tube pickups.  I picked up and old 60's era Silvertone 1448 (amp in case model) last year.  There still fairly inexpensive for a "vintage" guitar.  The Danelectros have a unique tone and they are AWESOME for slide...just tune her up to open G or E and GO!

Re: tele time ?

Nicely put, IMO, much, much more difficult to play a Strat or Tele then a Les Paul, but after you win the fight with a Strat, Tele, hard pressed to go back to a Les Paul- at least this is what happen to me.

I have and always will love Les Pauls the most but someday...someday...I hope I'm man enough to play a Tele!  I don't think I quite have the skills to tame that guitar yet!  There's no place to hide when your trying to tame that deceptively simple plank!
