Topic: Andy McKee... who wants to do a show with me?

Ok, I posted about this a couple weeks ago in hansamike's "Africa, land of contrasts" thread, but it wasn't obvious from the thread title that it was about Andy McKee, so I said if I didn't get any response, I'd start a new thread, and here it is.  smile

Andy McKee is finally touring in my general area and there are a few shows within about 2 hours of me that I could feasibly make, and I wanted to see if anyone else from the area wanted to join me.  If I have to do the show alone, I'll probably end up blowing it off, and I really don't want to do that, because I've been waiting for a chance to see him live ever since I found him on YouTube a few years ago.  I know there is some awareness and appreciation of him here on this forum... if you search his name, you'll come up with quite a few threads from the past few years.  I know in at least one of them Joe spoke up and said he's fantastic.



Anyway, these are the 3 shows that are feasible for me:

Thurs 2/25 -- World Cafe, Philadelphia, PA -- $23 incl. $3 processing fee (and there's a Best Buy clinic that afternoon too)

Wed 3/3 -- Rams Head On Stage, Annapolis, MD -- $15 + Rams Head's fee (and you could buy your tix for The Machine Unplugged on 3/20 while you're there, hehe... )

I'm personally leaning toward Rams Head, as it's the cheapest, but I'm pretty sure I'm free any of those dates.  Anyone up for it?  All of these venues have assigned dinner-table seating (perfect for his type of show), so we'd have to coordinate our ticket buying if we want to sit together.  Let me know.

Join Andy on his Facebook page he is releasing a CD DVD package soon. I love the You Tube vids and got to see him last spring. His live show is much more and I'm quoting Andy here.
"Somber" I had an urge to leave early but glad i hung on to hear Africa. Andy is a really nice guy and great player he just needs to add a bit more uptempo stuff and perform a bit more not just play.

So, any interest here in going to see an Andy McKee show with me?  If so, we should get our tickets now.  See my original post for the 3 shows that are feasible for me.  I don't know how many tickets are left for World Cafe or The Birchmere, but at Rams Head On Stage (my preference) the good seats are going fast.

I got alot of shows i'am going to in the next few months and money is running low,plus i will be trying to get a ticket to Crossroads on Sat. Bob
