Topic: Hard work proven worthy :)....
So my band played their first headline theatre show last night (have done a support slot there before, but not a 3 hour slot), a show which we nearly sold out (a capacity of 400 people, which was considerably hard for a quartet of 14-16 year olds, haha), and spent so much hard work planning. After supporting a covers band called BasketCase, back in October, we found this is really what we wanted to be doing for the rest of our lives (whether this is full time, or just a weekend thing when we are older). A month before this, we played the Great Dorset Steam fair to over a thousand people, and loved it, so for last night, to play a 5th of this, which we achieved alone, was awesome for us. There were many emotional family members from all the band, and many of our closest friends were there to wish us good luck.
We all had the time of our lives, and we were very lucky to have what we had,, we had a very good stage production company, who provided us with the coolest light show we've ever worked with, and the sound crew were superb! Some of our closest friends and family made every effort to have the show recorded, and so we are now working on a 7 camera DVD to sell and use for future promotion... Another exciting moment was a promotion company we have been in close contact with told us they were very happy with what we had seen, so we were all ecstatic to have played the venue! We were all happy with the finished outcome, and cannot wait to get on with more gigs this year (including more theatres and festivals!).
Will try and get some clips up of the show when it's all complete
Had an awesome time myself, thanks to some tips from Joe,, I personally found a carpet and baffle very useful for my setup, and was told by our experienced soundman that I was the best guitarist he'd seen for years! Which is the kind of comment that makes what I do so good I even sported a RAH Joe t-shirt for the second set
A very pleased and content player....
