Topic: Killers Live at the RAH DVD

Well, I've not been a rabid fan of the Killers, but have a couple of their albums and have seen them on TV playing festival venues to huge crowds so thought I'd spend a few quid on the DVD to see how they performed at the RAH, especially as I was there to see Joe last May.

Well, what can I say, terrific performance, superb lighting, camera and editing. They really did a top notch job on this one. Even if you are not a fan, the atmosphere is tremendous! The audience were REALLY up for it and the fan interviews in the extras section took me back to last year, where fans travelled from all over the globe to see their hero.

I commend this to the house!

Re: Killers Live at the RAH DVD

Personally, I'm not a fan of U2...I'm not a fan of the killers.

I don't need the "sonics" and the painted to canvas type of playing going on in these bands...
I think The Edge showed himself up for all that in It Might Get Loud - this band will just follow on from where they left off (I think they are planning to anyway).

If I want a light show and boom bangs plus admitted pretentiousness...I'll have KISS - the songs at least make you feel good and it carries more fun, less seriousness.

RAH gig? I've got my Zeppelin dvd thankfully.

Sorry, but I'm not a fan. (that is my opinion)

Yeah, IMO The Killers are well.....not. Kind of "So annoying it's catchy...but really quite bad actually"

Re: Killers Live at the RAH DVD

thanks for the opinion and post Geoff, - my wife loves the Killers, - I will happily listen to them, - some well written catchy songs but have always thought that the lead vocals to be a bit weak.

Not sure why the U2 opinion came in to the debate but as it did....stadium rock is totally different to small venue inc RAH rock, - very few bands could play the likes of Wembley stadium and reach the entire audience and leave them wanting for more, U2 are one of the few.

My YouTube channel with plenty of my Joe's videos dating from 2009 inc his first Hammersmith Odeon ones:

Re: Killers Live at the RAH DVD

My boy Alex loved the Killers and I went to see them with him a few months ago. I have to say they were brilliant. The lighting was superb as you say Geoff (it was the same show as they RAH). As for U2 only seen them at the IMAX and to be honest that blew me away, stunning experience, which I was not expecting.
I do like big stadium theatricals, never seen anyone do it as good as Floyd but muse had a go.

Re: Killers Live at the RAH DVD

There's bound to be those who don't like some bands. I prefer to keep an open mind, until I'm disappointed (like Little Feat)

The production on this Killers DVD is what I'm really going on about here. It really does show up the ALbert Hall for the magnificent building and atmosphere is can produce. If you get the chance to see this DVD that alone is worth the money. I totally agree about the lead vocals, weak, bordering on the poor at times. But he gets away with it! They certainly get the crowd going here.

The fan reactions are so simliar to our experiences when we went to see Joe, it's uncanny!
