Topic: Hi from Holland!

Hi everybody!

I'm from somewhere near Amsterdam and I got to know Joe's music only recently. At the Aynsley Lister forum they were talking about him a lot, so I got curious. Never heard him on the radio here in Holland (at my home there's allways mainstream radio on, a nice compromise between me and my friend) and at the local music store only 2 JB cd's were available. I bought them right away and after listening I ordered the rest on internet. The RAH dvd is nonstop in my dvdplayer.
Unfortunately I had to work when he was in Amsterdam in Carré. Now I bought tickets for the Magic Bike Event in Rüdesheim, it's a Harley meeting (but my bike's a Kawasaki, o, o....). It's a 4 1/2 hour drive!!! Wonder what your longest distance is you have ever travelled for a gig? I'm pretty sure I'm not the winner if it comes to this, but for me it's kind of weird to travel that far for a concert.

Re: Hi from Holland!

Welcome!
900 miles on a motorcycle.  (With a brain tumor.)  I'm not the winner either.

Hi Bibi!

Welcome to this forum! Geweldig alweer iemand uit Nederland!!!

You will discover that Joe has a very solid fanbase here in Holland, a lot of us are on Facebook as well.

I think you can't beat our US friends when it comes to traveling for a gig. Multiple day roads trips have been known to happen when Joe's in town smile When it comes to us Europeans you could ask: how many countries have you travelled to see him, lol.

Please feel free to post any questions you have and post some pics so we can recognize you at a gig!
I'm sure we'll meet  somewhere this year.

Again, welcome, have fun and post frequently.

If the weather is nice: bikers clothes.
Curly darkblond hair and blue eyes.

Re: Hi from Holland!

Hi Bibi - we've met before! Good to see you over here as well. big_smile
I'm sure you'll enjoy this forum, but you'll have some miles in the saddle if you want to beat the furthest travelled to a Joe gig. Two of our guys, Rocket and Shredit, came over from California to see Joe at the RAH. I'll let them tell you which one travelled furthest - 'coz I can't remember hmm

Re: Hi from Holland!

Hi Icon!! Yeah we spent some time together on the AL forum.
After reading the replies I know I'm not a long distance traveller at all. But it's my first gig outside the country, so that explains how I really want to see JB for the first time.
CU (somewhere)!!!

Wow Rick!
That's a lot of miles indeed! Maybe you could see something more than just the concerts. Europe is nice to spend your holiday you know..
You must be talking about the JB-Jeff Beck-Jimmy Bowskill gig, isn't it?
Tonight I'm going to Jimmy Bowskill in Harmelen (which isn't that far from Amsterdam)! I'm told I shouldn't miss him, when he's in the neighbourhood, so tonight we'll see the guy!

Re: Hi from Holland!

Please give us a report of the concert in the Other Artists thread. And yes, I will be doing other things on my trip. I have family in Berlin so the concert in Bonn is a happy coincidence. ( and a good excuse to my wife for another Joe event smile ) Hope to see you there, it is shaping up to be a Happening.

Re: Hi from Holland!

Hi Suzanne!
I know, but the Bonn gig is right in the middle of my holiday. If we're somewhere in Asia it's not an option to come back for it. But if we're on holiday in Germany... that changes the possibilities of course... Today we went to BMW to look for a better bike for me, so there's a big chance we're going on a bikers holiday for the first time this year (Guess who is planning the route than, hahah)....

Hi André!
Haven't we met at an AL gig last year?

Hi Rick!
I don't play the guitar myself so I really don't consider myself the right person to give a report of gigs. All I can say is this guy is young and talented and that the band sounded VERY good. He's got a great voice also. The music is more the more heavy rocking kind of blues than the "old fashioned" type of blues. (Sorry for that, I maybe don't know the right words to describe it, I don't intend to upset someone reading this by using the word "old fashioned".) He deserved a bigger audience that's for sure, but he's not known in Holland (In Canada it's different I guess).

Good luck with your new bike then!
In case you should need tickets for Bonn you can contact Pete the Cabby on this forum.
He has a couple of spare tickets for you smile

Yep, I'll be there as well as another JB fan from the Ruhrpott in Germany.
So we'll meet soon Suzanne!
Never saw Joanne, I'll probably see her when she's around again.

Re: Hi from Holland!

Another Dutchie! Ongeloofelijk, en uit mijn buurt ook nog. big_smile

Welcome biker Bibi, I can sense a meeting too, as I'm intending to see Aynsley again, this time in Holland. It'll be a mini Bonabuddy meet, but without Joe. neutral
