Topic: hi, new joe fan here

after seeing Joe play Blues Deluxe on youtube at the suggestion of a friend recently, i was floored. then after reading the piece about him in the new Guitar World i went in search of one of his cds. the only one i found was The Ballad Of John Henry. wow. not since Stevie Ray Vaughan have i been so stunned by a musician. especially Happier Times. i look forward to learning more about Joe and hearing even more music.

Hi Matt and welcome.

You better get saving up 'cos there's quite a back catalogue to pick up on as well as DVD's etc etc.

Then of course you need to see him in the flesh, hopefully this year already. You'll need to preapre yourself a little for that one, because of the shock you see. No need to worry about it  of course. It's just that he's way better than you can even imagine.

While you are waiting for that experience drop by here often. We're a friendly bunch. If you are a player then look into 'Joe's Amp 'n stuff'. It is a mine of information too.

If you want tips on what to buy first then there are threads on here that will point you in the right direction. You'll end up buying them all and thats quite normal. The RAH DVD is great way to appreciate what kind of live performer he is and as regards an album to back that up 'Live from Nowhere in Particular' is one of the finest live recordings I think I've heard.

A warm welcome from me *handshake* My Intro to Joe was the track, Sloe Gin, then bought up everything he had done within a month!
Coming up to a year as part of this forum, it's gone quite quickly!

Hi Mike, welcome. As the O.M's said, you must see him live to get a full appreciation. My intro was at a Blues festival where he played a 1 hour set that left me slack-jawed. (which is the normal result). Cruise around the forum and post often. We are a global group and hopefully, we'll meet some day at a gig. Rick

Hi Matt and welcome to the forum.

Blues Deluxe has got to be my favourite Joe track. It was the first cd of Joe's that I bought. The others followed in very quick succession!

Hope you get to a live show soon.....you'll love it
