Topic: Up for a jam..? Central Scotland area..

I put this in the guitars section earlier this week... It was suggested i put it in the introductions section...

I anticipate a similar quiet response..!

All...

Hopefully this is in the correct category..? Moderators can advise otherwise..!

Guitarist in the Edinburgh area looking for like-minded guitarist / musicians to meet up and have a jam of some Blues / Rock..
Have been playing for over 10 years and have approx 6 years live experience so can play "a bit"..

Influences: Rory Gallagher / Joe Bonamassa / Eric Clapton / Led Zeppelin / Thin Lizzy / Guns N' Roses / Free / The Black Keys etc etc... you get the idea...!

If interested then reply to this post with your thoughts and also your area of residence to see if feasible...

Not looking to take over the world, just have a jam..

Cheers....

Hi Rooster

Welcome to the Forum.

I work in Edinburgh and a friend of mine, who would also be interested, lives in Linlithgow. Your interests are similar to ours so what say we meet up in the likes of Bannerman's in Ed one Saturday and have a wee discussion? You can enjoy some live music at the same time. It wouldn't be this weekend (15th Jan) but any Sat after that should be ok.

Hope to hear from you.

Dude... Sounds cool...

If you speak with your mate to see what his thoughts are then we'll sort it out...
unsure about next Saturday but 29th should be all good...?
can sort out further on down the road....

can we do any private posting on here for swapping e-mail addresses etc...?

Re: Up for a jam..? Central Scotland area..

Sounds good guys and welcome to the forum Rooster. I live in Edinburgh too, problem is I can't play! I would go and see you though if you were to put on some gigs in the future, as I like all the acts you mentioned.

If you are looking for a live gig to meet up at there is a blues night at Studio 24 on Sunday 31st January called Chickenwire:

Greenose - cheers for the support and also the "ChickenWire" club night.. may check that out...

BBJ - did you speak to your mate..?

Currently listening to "Jeff Beck Group" - "Truth" and "Beck-Ola" on random... fantastic stuff... gotta blame JB for this as i'd missed it before...

Hi Rooster

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. First chance I've had to respond.

How about Saturday 30th at Bannerman's, say about 4ish? Resident band usually start about 4:30

BBJ...

Saturday sounds good.
Could meet you approx 5 at bannermans..

Seen a good blues band in Whistle binkies saturday past.
Apparently every saturday at 7 ish is a blues band.

Will your mate be attending..?

Five at Bannerman's sounds fine. My mate'll be there as well. We'll be standing by the right hand entrance to the vaulted stage area. I'll have brown leather jacket. Pal's bearded with glasses.

Hope to see you then.

Cheers.
