Sunday - 17th January 2010 - the Varmint Show is proud to announce an exclusive feature with Virgil and the Accelerators on Rob Varmint's Rock and Blues Circus (18.00 - 20.00 GMT).

Recorded in November 2009, as the band prepared for their gig that evening with Joanne Shaw-Taylor at the Robin 2, the show features contributions from both Virgil and Gabriel McMahon in a wide ranging interview that gives a real insight into one of the UK's most exciting live bands.

In addition to music from the band's debut EP, we also have 2 exclusive additional tracks as well as an extraordinary live performance from Virgil.

The interview was recorded at the home of Virgil's Manager, Martin Lewis, in the afternoon leading up to the gig at the Robin 2.  We'd like to place on record our particular thanks to Martin and his family for making us so welcome.  It was a fantastic afternoon, which only got better as we followed Martin & his proteges to the gig and got to hang out with Virgil and Gabe's mum, (the almost legendary) Tripsy & Simon, fleetingly met (photographer extraordinaire) Icon from the Joe Bonamassa forum and shared a peerless gig with a knowledgeable and yet gobsmacked audience.

(Oh, and we also got to talk to someone else, but more of that in due course ...)

Seriously, in a cynical, manufactured X-Factor world, where bland, air-brushed superlatives are 10-a-penny, Virgil and the Accelerators are genuinely one of the most talented, electrifying bands you are likely to see in several lifetimes ... so do join us to celebrate their very special thang as, to (mis-)quote Virgil, these guys are "the Berries"!
