Topic: Scrapomatic (members of Trucks' & Tedeschi's bands)

My taper-friend and I went to see Scrapomatic last night... that's a blues duo consisting of Mike Mattison and Paul Olsen, associated with Derek Trucks' and Susan Tedeschi's bands, and for this show they had Dave Yoke from Tedeschi's band with them too.  I know some of you here are already familiar with them, as I did a search and two threads came up with mentions of them.  But they needed their own thread for this.

I want to share this recording with you all, as I know most of you will love it.  It was an awesomely perfect show, and this is an excellent recording... it's a soundboard/Schoeps (on stage) matrix... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND downloading this or at least listening to it on Archive if you don't do the downloading thing (like me)... enjoy... smile

Re: Scrapomatic (members of Trucks' & Tedeschi's bands)

Thanks Vikki,
I saw them once when they opened for Susan and Derek's Soul Stew Revival - conveniently enough since Mike was part of the Revival as well. They were very good, indeed! Their soulful, simple, no-frills approach is a refreshing change of pace - once in a while, at least.

Hey Vik..there's also an old Blues guy named "Scrapomatic" who is a regular emcee on the Blues Cruise. He's really funny.   Cathy

Re: Scrapomatic (members of Trucks' & Tedeschi's bands)

I want to correct my original post regarding Scrapomatic's band members, as I apparently had misunderstood something before.  Scrapomatic is normally a duo consisting of Mike Mattison (who played with Trucks) on vocals, and Paul Olsen (who did not play with either Trucks or Tedeschi) on guitar & vocals.  For this one show they had their friend Dave Yoke (who DID play with Tedeschi) sitting in on guitar.  The fact that Yoke played with Tedeschi and Olsen hadn't played with either band is what confused me... sorry.  So technically my thread title is kinda wrong too (although correct for this particular show).  Anwway, just wanted to set that straight! tongue

So, I'm wondering if anybody else has checked out this Scrapomatic show?  I was listening to it again last night and thinking how much people here would enjoy it... it was a GOOD show!  Remember, at this Archive link you can stream it on your computer without downloading it... just hit play...
