Re: Who Are You?

Well I'm 34, so still one of the younger ones (I hope), live in Scotland with a wife and two kids under 5! Work in financial services here in Edinburgh. No dogs and no prospect of getting any either if i get my way, brought up with cats! Took the music exploration route from metal bands such as Metallica and Maiden via Aerosmith and Thin Lizzy to blues based acts such as John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and Fleetwood Mac and finally discovered there were modern guys playing this style of music, such as Joe! smile

Re: Who Are You?

51 for a bit longer. Been on a mission to young the audience down for awile. That is a long story but Joe has awakened my generation to music again. There are so many options for the younger crowd. When I saw Joe I knew he was going to make relevant the genre' again. I have been right so far.

I have a Jack Russel or should I say he has me. Its his house he just allows us to share it with him. Kids are grown two grandkids. The three year old loves music and whether he has talent or not he has the moves.

We do have an introductions topic which I am moving this to.

Re: Who Are You?

My name is Jay, a 41 year old guitar player -- have played since I was 14, have been a die hard Joe fan for many years, started with bloodline and the hot licks video with joe years ago -- and have continued to follow career, never have been to a live show yet, as I live in northern maine, and for some strange reason Joe never tours up here ( scratches head  hmm )

I am a "guitar nerd", if not playing guitar working on guitar rig, consistently trying new things out.   For work, I am an operations manager for an energy company ( i am the guy you can complain to about gas prices, not!! ), no children, 2 kats, my girl and I together for almost 20 years now.....love to golf ( when there is time ), and love the beach......

Re: Who Are You?

Hi from Bulgaria smile). I am 24 years old and since i discovered blues music i am totally in love with it. I found Joe soon, I think it was in 2007, but ever since i have listened to everything he has to offer countless time. Last year i had two of my dreams come true : I saw Eric Clapton in RAH in May and then Joe surprised me with a performance in Athens ( which is about 900 km from my city) so I did not hesitate for a second and went to see him with my friends. And Joe was so kind to sign my acoustic guitar ( thank you again ) which i just brought with me just in case i have some spare time to jam with my friends there. Besides blues and rock music I have an eye for structural engineering since i graduated in master degree civil engineering last year so I love it. Anyway I just wanted to thank Joe for his inspiration to me and my guitar skills improve with a bit every time i play his song. I forgot to say that i am in band and we are having a couple of joe bonamassa songs that we cover smile. Cheers!!

A very warm welcome to our first Bulgarian member! More and more countries are now represented on the forum, which is a wonderful thing. Please keep posting, we love hearing from people in 'unusual' places! wink

I'm George, 61, an American in Amsterdam. I've only been a fanatical Joe fan for the last 2 1/2 years (a mere whippersnapper compared to many here,) but I've managed to notch up 13 shows in four countries on two continents. cool

Re: Who Are You?

Hi I'm Jon (or Jono) I'm 38 and live with me partner and 3 kids. I'm not a musician, although I sing a little, but only on karaoke nights. I did have ambitions of being in a band, but it's something I just never got around to, life usually had other plans for me (or maybe that's just an excuse, I don't know for sure). I recently landed a voluntary job as a radio presenter, and the reason I started this was to get Joe's music out to a bigger audience (being an avid Street Team member) and as an excuse to bugger off upstairs for a couple of hours to listen to some music on a Sunday evening. It's just a hobby, but you never know do you? I only heard of Joe this year, and was gutted to find out that I've missed out on a good 10 years or so of studio albums. I'm making up for it now tho wink My first Joe show was last month, where I got to meet the man himself, and I was totally blown away. As far as other music goes, I like loads of stuff, Pink Floyd, Eagles, Iron Maiden, ACDC, Jeff Healey, UFO, Saxon, Garth Brooks, ZZ Top, but being a member of this very forum has opened my ears to a whole new world of music. My other pastimes include my Xbox (although I'm very much a casual gamer, mainly cuz I'm rubbish at them) and tinkering with PC's.

That's about it really, unless ya include me full time job as a desk jockey............. and thit really is it wink

Re: Who Are You?

I started this post to get a sense of what all the rest of Joe's fans were up to. I think quite a few of us here could start our own Newfie blog!
Now I just wanna know where the heck are all the fly fishers(male or female)? And when we goin'?

Why don't we eliminate all the warning labels and let things sort themselves out?

Re: Who Are You?

Hello JB Fans,

My name is Mike and I'm 44.  I've been a JB fan since a friend loaned me his Rockpalast DVD.  I've seen Joe twice near Houston, TX where I am from.  I am super excited to have scored front row seats to my third show coming up on 03/25/2010!

I have 4 kids, 2 grandsons, and am in a loving, committed relationship with the woman of my dreams.

Are there any other Texans on the forum?  I also wanted to know what Joe's policy on recording his live performances is.  I am thinking that I may have an opportunity to graphically preserve some memories of the evening for future reference.  As a new Street Team member I was wondering about sharing to promote this young man whose music seems to move me so much.

All the Best!

Hi Mike, and welcome to this wonderful forum!

I think there are one or two other Texans, but not many. You will find that Joe is what's known as 'taper friendly', as witnessed by the literally hundreds of clips of  him on youtube (quite a few of which were taken by forum members) as well as the many complete live shows available as torrents on dime and elsewhere! (Check the top sticky topic in 'Show reviews')

Enjoy, and keep posting. wink

Re: Who Are You?

I'm 20, I live in Belgium and I'm studying management. I've played the clarinet for about 6 or 7 years, then I picked up the guitar, but I don't have much time to practice so I'm not good at all. Anyway I like it and that's what matters.

I discovered Joe not so long ago. It was in May 09, I was looking for blues gigs in Belgium and I came across the BRBF where he was coming. Unfortunately I couldn't go and I had to wait until late November to see him for the first time.

Re: Who Are You?

Hi!  I'm Chris, age 43, and I live in central Pennsylvania.  I'm divorced and have 2 children, ages 13 and 11.  Sadly, I no longer have a dog but am I big fan of collies, having had two very intelligent sweethearts in my life previously.  If gerbils count as pets, chalk me up for having two of them.

I've noticed that Joe's fans seem to range in age widely, depending on the venue.  My boyfriend (the love of my life) turned me on to Joe's music last year and since then I've been super lucky.  I've seen him live 4 times already!  At blues festivals, there seems to be a bigger mix of ages in the audience (party atmosphere?), and in smaller venues there seems to be an older crowd (cost of the tickets?).  That's been my experience anyway.

I'm happy to report that there IS a younger crowd supporting Joe.  I took my son to see him live and he's been a huge fan ever since.  He even spent his own money on a Joe B. T-shirt (instead of hitting up my wallet, which was strapped from buying all those CDs).  Here's the bad news:  Seeing Joe was my son's first live show ever, and I'm sure it's going to make all other concerts seem lacking for the rest of his life.  The good news?  He tells every teenager he knows how awesome Joe is!
