Topic: Who Are You?

Was watching Rah again(for the 20th time or so) and couldn't help but notice that the audience seems to be primarily older than you're average concert goer. So it got me thinking (a dangerous habit, I know). Besides being fans of Joe, what else do we have in common?
For Instance, I'm 54, married w/kids (7), dogs (Newfoundlands) and a mortgage. Besides Joe, my main passion is fly fishing for trout in the Sierras.
What about you?

Why don't we eliminate all the warning labels and let things sort themselves out?

Re: Who Are You?

Young guy at 23. Wales. Own dogs, cats and various assorted farm animals around the place.
Live, breathe, occasional eat guitar. Guitar and amp geek.

....aaaaand that's about it.

Oh yeah, quite like a certain guitarist on here....name doesn't ring a bell... wink

Re: Who Are You?

Joe and the guy’s make me feel young again, they reminds me of the band of my youth and inspires me to play again. I don't feel older; I’M just at an age where I can afford better gear to play when I retire and rack out during my golden years. big_smile

I'M 42 and work too many 12hr days (the good thing is that it pays for gear). I have one kid, she is 8 and races go karts. I stopped racing offroad when she was born now I guess that I race through her? She loves it.  I watch NASCAR, Football and the Tour deFance and try to catch Joe and some other bands when i can. With any luck I will kick back and just play music when I retire...

Re: Who Are You?

I'm 53 years old, and just married off both my daughters within the last 3 months. My wife and I are hardly empty nesters, since we have four dogs (2 english springer spaniels, a Jack Russell Terrior and a Fox Terrior).
2009 was a great year, including a May trip to London & Paris which included a stop at RAH on May 4th.
As with most fans here, one of my passions is music...a passion that was re-kindled when I saw our host for the first time, about 5 years ago.
My other passions are the outdoors & fishing. I missed my wilderness trip this year, but will get back on track in 2010. I've taken three wilderness canoe trips to Minnesota's Boundary Waters, most recently in 2007 and 2008.

Re: Who Are You?

I am 48 years old; 5 kids ( 2 left at home). I live in Missoula, Montana, so I love the outdoors and spend quite a bit of time out in them.

I do spend most of my free time playing the guitar and reading about the guitar and the great characters who play them.

I'm 65, married for 38 years, 3 married children, dog, 2 cats. I enjoy all manner of water sports, football, futbol, bicycle racing, motorsports. Lived through the summer of love in the Haight, still a hippie at heart. Joe's music takes me back to the music I loved as a youth. Rick

Like you, music and trout fishing are two of my loves (beer is the third)

Re: Who Are You?

I'm 28 (29 will be here in 2 months...boo almost 30) from the Chicago suburbs. I'm married and we have an 8 month old(born on Joe's BDay). We all love music. My wife sings I play guitar (blues and rock and have been in multiple bands but currently no time with work and family) I got my little man a toy guitar for Christmas. He is amazed when I play the same songs that his guitar plays.
I'm a deer hunter as well as my wife.
I'm a gear head. I love building hot rods. I just sold a 10 second 2001 Camaro. I still have a 67 Camaro, 72 Nova and a 64 Step-Side 3/4 ton Chevy(bought this for my little guy).

The BEST dogs ever. We have a a Landseer (9yrs old/130lbs) and a Grey (2yrs old/175lbs). My 2 year old has the personality of a lab tho'. Still thinks he can roughhouse like he used to. way too big for that, but i love him.
These are our 4th & 5th newfies over the years.

Re: Who Are You?

Well, let's see. I'm 23 years old, and back in May I graduated from college with a bachelor's in marketing/management. I now own two businesses with my dad. I'm very tight with my family, as you might be able to tell. I've been playing guitar for 4 or 5 years now, and I love it very much. I'm currently between bands, but would love to be in one again. I used to be a scratch golfer, and had some offers from some schools to play golf, but decided not to pursue it. I love other sports: basketball, football, ect. I am also a movie fanatic, I own close to 200 (may be over I don't know) and it's always growing. I also own between and 200 and 300 cd's. I like collecting those things. I'm also currently single, so if you know anybody..... lol

I got into Joe in early 2005, is what I count. I actually caught wind of him back in 2004 thanks to the webmaster at the KWS forum. I got ahold of So It's Like That, and thought it was pretty good, but he didn't grab me at that point. I look at it like I wasn't ready. Then on a whim i bought Had To Cry Today in March of 2005 and that's when he grabbed me. And then around that point I joined the old forum, and was one of the first join the current one. I've basically grown up with a lot of you people here. Cheers!!!! big_smile

Re: Who Are You?

I'm 41, married, and have a 19-year old son who still lives at home and plays guitar.  We live in the Central Pennsylvania area, near Harrisburg.  I like a wide variety of music and my main "hobby" is going to shows... I counted the other day and I did 74 shows last year! tongue

On the subject of dogs, years ago I wanted a Newfoundland, but we couldn't afford one (and I would've preferred the bronze color, which is even more), so I ended up with a free St. Bernard/Chocolate Lab mix (but he was basically black)... he was a big sweetheart and a great dog, his only drawback being you always had to have a slobber towel handy... and I know a Newfie would've been worse, so I kinda gave up that dream.  When old Pudge died (cancerous tumor in his leg), we got a Bernese Mountain Dog pup... I am sold on these dogs, wouldn't hesitate to get another one.  Iko turns 4 this month... he is so sweet and smart and funny... he keeps us entertained... and no slobber!  Just lots of doghair, but we had that with the last one too... my Dyson sure gets a workout at my house! roll
