Topic: What pick did srv use?

Jus out of interest what thickness pick did srv use?

Re: What pick did srv use?

I don't know what the thickness of the pick was, but I do know he used the back end of it to make sound thicker.

He usually Fender Mediums or the equivalent, and used the fat end of the pick.

Re: What pick did srv use?

Thanks
I'm kinda having difficulty settling on a pick, i'm using the JB pick atm and now when i go back to say a 0.83 or even a 1.00 it just feels like a big blunt paddle, on the other hand the jazz three that joe uses doesnt sound as full for chords (well not when i use it anyway wink ) Thing is i want to be able to use one pick for everything, question is which one?...

Re: What pick did srv use?

HRJ, if Dunlop doesn't make a plectrum to fit your needs........then it probably doesn't exist. I must admit I'm one of their biggest cheerleaders being a friend of the family, but Joe swears by them  and that carries some weight around here.

Re: What pick did srv use?

I play Dunlop .73 mm. It's little more flexible than the Fender Mediums, but they're not super flexible. A nice in-between.
