Topic: Davy Knowles 12/10/09 -Denver

Davy played a blistering set last night at the Soiled Dove in Denver once again. It's been a little over a year since he last played Denver. It was same venue and the same opening act (Rob Drabkin... with whom Davy played a beautiful version of Sweet Melissa). I got my guitar signed by Davy after the show... still a very humble guy. I will have videos up soon. I got "Riverbed" and "Outside Woman Blues" . I wish I could have gotten more but my camera was low on batteries.

If you haven't seen him yet......  DO IT!

I was there, too. Great set. I was kind of hoping to hear them with the keyboard player since I hadn't heard that combo yet. But I was also kind of glad not to, because power trio is my favorite combination. In any case, this is the best I've ever heard them in whatever configuration. Much more interesting, though I had no complaints befoe.

Boolz...do I remember correctly that you're a taper?  Did you happen to grab this show?  If so, I'm sure there are quite a few here that would love to hear it.

A friend bought 16 tix for Tue. in SF as his Xmas present to us all. Nothing says Happy Holidays like a live show with good friends. Most of us have cleared the work calender by noon, party on Garth!

I didn't bring my rig this time. I was in the mood to just enjoy the music and my friends (and the fact that I wasn't cold), and not be stone quiet for a tape.

That's understandable. I can agree with how cold it was!! (outside... Davy warmed it up with his guitar inside cool)

Understandable, just thought I'd ask since I thought I'd remembered you posting here or elsewhere that you had taped another BDS or related show.  I understand having done some very amateurish taping that it's nice to be able just to enjoy the show and not worry about gear/levels, etc.  Though I do enjoy reliving the moment later.

Glad you enjoyed the show.
