Re: Belfast Waterfront 06.12.2009

Considering the band had only played Belfast once previous at The Spring & Airbrake Pub in July 2008 with around 300 in attendance, and just 16 months later bringing 1100 to a show is in my books highly commendable and shows the pace of interest.
That city has a vast degree of musical knowledge anyways and the audiences are always ready to rock. and one of the friendliest too

I was lucky enough to chat to Joe before the show, for the Belfast Telegraph newspaper. Here's the link: http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/enter … 87550.html

Stunning show, as expected. I brought a friend who'd never seen Joe live before, and the evening turned him into a hardcore fan!

Re: Belfast Waterfront 06.12.2009

I was on the same front row as Matt and his family and i thoroughly enjoyed the show.  The one song i really missed off the set was Walk in my Shadows i thought that would have been played as an encore.  All in All a great show

Re: Belfast Waterfront 06.12.2009

First post here.

Everything has already been said, but it was a FANTASTIC show in Belfast. So glad that an artist of this quality come back and see us!

The one man band acoustic interlude was just out of this world. The one thing that stood out for us was not only that Joe's guitar playing was superb but that his vocals were amazing. You always hear about the guitar playing and sometimes we feel that it's overlooked how well Joe sings.

The only thing for us was that our 4yr old daughter (having seen the Albert Hall  DVD) was disappointed that there was no sign of any pink inflatable guitars, however she was pacified by the promise to see Joe whenever she's a wee bit older. smile

I've been around here for nearly 15months or so.  Last time Joe played Belfast back in 2008 i had to walk out after 4 songs as my wife told me she was pregnant and wasn't well.  This time around i got to see the whole but I didn't get to meet or speak to him properly but i got a handshake which was good enough for me.

Hi Neil,

Did your wife announce the pregnancy during the show? Or was it a sudden nausea associated with the pregnancy? Great she was pregnant, bummer to miss the rest of the show. Glad you joined the club here. Rick
