Ah. This will pass in a while. However, thereafter sets in an uncontrollable urge to purchase his entire back catalogue (if you don't have it already). This can be expensive, and whilst good for you (and for Joe) we urge a degree of restraint. As with any drug too much all at once can be counter productive. Immerse yourself slowly....and enjoy.
Welcome aboard. My name is Mike and I'm a Bonaholic
Hi Mutley,
Welcome to our funzone. HansaMike said it well. What he didn't include is the craving to attend every subsequent gig within your time and economic range. This can become very expensive, just ask some of the veterans on this forum, but will stem the craving even more. Enjoy.

Hello and welcome )
I first heard Joe on Planet Rock earlier this year, and on the strength of one song, went out and bought The Ballad Of John Henry. When I bought it at my local store, I noticed that they also had 6 other albums on the shelf. Buying John Henry was an expensive decision, as once I'd finished listening to it (again), I went back to the store and bought New Day Yesterday, So It's Like That, Had To Cry Today, Sloe Gin, Live From Nowhere In Particular and You & Me. With that done I went to the counter and ordered Blues Deluxe lol.
I went to my first gig on Wednesday, and was totally blown away, and yes, I'm going when he comes back in the summer. I am completely hooked.
My name is Jon, and I three am a Bonaholic
Welcome to the forum Mutley....or should I say welcome to Bonaholics not so anonymous
You are in very good company here. This is a great place to hang out and keep up to date with all things Joe. Feel free to gush as much as you like with no fear of getting from anyone!

Welcome along!
Crikey,
What a friendly bunch of Bonaholics!
I have exercised zilch restraint whatsoever, I'm afraid. I dived right in and invested in most of the back catalogue earlier this year, none of that slow immersion for me.
P.S are 'smilies' compulsory in this forum?

No, Mutley....they're not compulsory....they just come naturally hehe
Just don't get on one's bad side.
They make smilies easy to post but not mandatory. Rick

Welcome Mutley!
Yes Rick is right. I'm quite a newbie too and I've experienced the 'craving to attend every subsequent gig within your time and economic range' only very recently. It took me to six gigs in 4 countries this summer
May i suggest to you:
05/28/10 UNITED KINGDOM HMV LONDON HAMMERSMITH APOLLO
05/29/10 UNITED KINGDOM ROTHERHAM MAGNA CENTRE
05/30/10 UNITED KINGDOM BOURNEMOUTH INTERNATIONAL CENTER
05/31/10 UNITED KINGDOM BIRMINGHAM NATIONAL INDOOR ARENA
Still enough time to put aside that Christmas bonus
My name's Suzanne and I too am a Bonaholic...
(look i only used two smilies....)
OK , this is my first post, but I've been a Joe fan for about five years now. I was turned on to him by a co-worker here in Ft. Wayne, In. Joe got a big push in his career from Doc West at Rock 104 and he's very popular here. I'm 55 years young, and grew up on the Beatles, Zepplin, Floyd, you ge the picture. I first saw Joe at Peirre's nightclub. ( $13.00 at the door, 10.00 advance) He basically did the same show from A New Day Yesterday Live. Needless to say I was blown away, and have been totally hooked ever since. When I first heard New Day, I thought, man I know that song, then it hit me,Ian Anderson. I was also a big Tull fan. I thought how cool is that song the way Joe did it. And on Live from Nowhere, when he slides into I want you she's so heavy ( on If heartaches were nickels) from the Beatles, I had to back it up just to make sure I heard what I thought I had just heard. So this year, I got to see him in Ft Wayne in April, Evansville in August, and Indy in Oct. Tonight one of my best freinds coming to the house and we're going to watch the Royal Albert Hall on my big screen and surround sound, and relive the magic of Joe live. His music is in my head all the time, and when it not, I put it there. Can't wait for him to come back. So here's to all the Joe B. Fans!!!!!!! Like we like to yell during a great concert. YOU GO JOE!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the forum Kevbob39. Don't you just love the way Joe weaves those little bits into his songs and the covers he chooses are just fantastic.
Have a great night with your buddies and Joe!

Welcome aboard! Try to score the CD of Joe's first group "Bloodline". I think he was 16 when it was recorded and his guitar playing even at that age was brilliant! Try second sourcing thru Amazon or EBay.
Welcome Kevbob39. Funny the way the little bits just creep in there. Joe does it all the time. I think it is because his early exposure to so many styles made a stew and the odd ort bubbles up from time to time. Kinda gets you though when you rewind to see if you really heard it. $13 at the door, never gonna see that again. Rick
