Topic: Newbie

Just heard from Joe last Fryday for the first time. Siting with friends , looking to a Nort Sea Festifal  recording. We  (my wife anf I) were smitten. Looking on the the internet for a DVD or CD and ending up with 2 tickets for the concert in Carre next Thursday (I bought also a DVD ofcourse) . We can not wait to see him.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Joe. I only heard Joe earlier this year on Planet Rock in the UK, went out and bought The Ballad of John Henry, took it home, listened to it, then went straight back to the record store and bought his entire back catalogue of CD's in one go. I now have all of his DVD's and tickets to a concert next week. The forum is a great place to swap stories etc, I hope you enjoy yourself here.

Glad to have you aboard

Re: Newbie

Welcome Bon092, your story is the same as most folks here. Despite Joe being in the business for 20 years (last week) it's only in the last three years or so the truck got bigger. Like you I heard a track on the Radio (Paul Jones Blues hour on BBC Radio 2) I had to know who this guy was 'cos I tuned in halfway through the track. Parked up and noted who he was and where he was playing - I just had to see him live! Manchester Academy 1 the following week. Since then I've seen him 18 times, twice more in the next few days, got every album and DVD and have bored my friends senseless, Except for the dozens who have now seen the light and have either been to see him since or are coming to Llandudno on Saturday - All 24 of 'em.

Welcome to Joe's forum, great crowd on here who meet up from time to time - guess where?

Re: Newbie

Welcome to the forum bon092. Your story is certainly a common one....I too was smitten from the very first time I heard Joe on the radio.

Prepare to have your sox blown off at the Carre gig and please come back and share your experience.

Tripsy smile
