Knoxville last night

got to see joe again last night in knoxville at the bijou theatre.....awesome old venue!   joe and the boys were on fire and me and buddies were blown away.  i thought they did a good job of changing up the set some from show i saw in lousiville earlier this year.....so i really enjoyed the varity.

the good:

the sound of the band and their chops
the venue
the sonic quality of the PA
the setlist
the crowd (soldout show)
joe's playing

the maybe it could have been better stuff:

the weather (made for a miserable driving experience coming from ky)
joe had a rig malfunction towards the end of the night and seemed to be unhappy about a couple of rig items on more than one occasion (although mostly unnoticable to the crowd i think...but i understand it being frustrating to him.

joe's vocals seemed just a tad "road worn".....now dont get me wrong...joe is one of my musical heros and he sounded great but you could just tell there was a time or two that he didnt quite have the power you are used to hearing...he sounded good but just not as powerful as usual in spots.....i also think the sound guy didnt have joe where he needed to be in the mix at times......there were times he was right where he needed to be and other times a little "buried".

OVERALL:

we loved the show.....the goods were great and the small issues were not big enough to take away any significant enjoyment of the show to me.....going to see joe will be something me and my buddies will continue to do every chance we get!!!!
