Topic: Last Week

Thought I'd share my experiences from last week.. On the thursday I went to see Sherman Robertson at my local venue, it cost £15 and I could walk home! it was brilliant I've not seen many blues artists perform close to home so I was suprised to see him billboarded... He was a brilliant entertainer and kept the crowd pleased all night (by carrying on playing till late big_smile) he spent time signing cd's and talking to people as well which is always a good sign.
Only bad point he seemed to put down "young guns" which kind of shocked me as I was THE only person below the age of 45-60 in the place and I play guitar and love blues and he also used the term "real blues" a bit or atleast it came across that he was an old blues codger as the saying goes....

and my other experience I bought a Joanne Shaw Taylor album "White Sugar" just out of curiosity and was very pleasantly suprised some very good playing / soulful singing. I recommend it to anybody... Which I guess to Sherman Robertson would be a young guns album lol....

Just thought I'd share that with you lot I know how much you like hearing bout dif artists...

Re: Last Week

I've sometimes sneered at wankers no matter the age.  As of late I've taken up saying that "We don't want the same thing..." when asked why I'm not playing with so and so.  Saves some face.

Young guns will grow up of they have the right attitude.  Talent is talent, no matter the age.  Music is an art that form that demands constant learning or one grows stale.
