Topic: Central Florida Newbie

Hi:

William here from Florida. I recently picked my guitar back up after a 22 year hiatus. I was once an aspiring musician tired of the cover tunes and writing my own stuff when love struck and the marriage path was chosen. Now the kids are grown and I've an interest in building things and amplifiers and guitars have been my thing. I decided to start playing again as soon as serial #1 was finished and this past summer she came to life with a roar. Not wanting to go back and rehash that 80's thing I decided to learn the blues. In my search for all who play the blues I stumbled across this artist who's tones and phrasings really brought a smile to my face and ...here I am. I really enjoy picking out Joe's licks ; especially the seemingly wild abandonment with which he plays them. So I'll sit back and work on my tone and my licks and maybe pick up a few pointers now and then.:)

I'm not to far outside of Tampa. No, Nelson Pass, who is an amplifier designer. He designed the Aleph series and some of the older Threshold designs from Hafler. His site
is PassLabs.com. I heard of Joe B through Guitar centers KOTB's contest. I'm thinking of entering next year.

Welcome to the forum, William.

Wow! 22 years....that's a long hiatus. So glad you decided to pick it up again and with no better inspiration than Joe. He inspires many people smile

Good luck with the competition, remember......... practise, practise, practise!

Tripsy smile
