Topic: Greetings from Aberdeen, Scotland

Have been lurking for a long time so decided to register.

I first saw Joe in Maryland in 2002 supporting Bad Co and Foreigner but it was another 5 years before I saw him again in Holland. Then it was Gateshead earlier this year - couldn't manage the Albert Hall unfortunately. I have tickets for Llandudno, Leeds and Edinburgh much to my wife's amazement!!

Looks as though there are hundreds of fellow fans here. So a big hi from me.

Hi Kenny,
Glad you've decided to stop lurking and join in smile
Yes there are hundreds of Bonafanatics here.....nice to have you on board.
Not long now til the UK tour dates. I was at Gateshead in April and lucky enough to be at the Albert Hall as well.
I'll be at Leeds.....maybe see you there

Re: Greetings from Aberdeen, Scotland

Hey Kenny i'm just up the road from you in Elgin. I've managed to see Joe twice. Once in Glasgow and one in Sheffield. Keep hoping he will make the trip to Aberdeen some time. The music hall would be a great venue to see him or better yet the Lemon Tree. I would worry his big amps would shake the place to bits though!

I've been thinking about heading to Edinburgh later this year but just had a wee boy and have bought too many guitars.

Hi Kenny. Welcome to the forum. I'll be at the Edinburgh gig along with many of the members here. Maybe see you there as I'm sure there'll be pre-gig meet up.

Hi Kenny, if you see a guy with a Planet rock cap on in Llanduno give me a shout and we'll have a beer, ya never know !

Re: Greetings from Aberdeen, Scotland

Thanks everyone for making me welcome.

I'll look out for you Mark - I'll be wearing my red live always on the road t shirt. Think we are staying in the nearby Manor Hotel - travelling from Edinburgh as we have The Answer previous night.

Re: Greetings from Aberdeen, Scotland

Fuzz - the Music Hall would be a great venue for Joe to play (it was good enough for Led Zeppelin in 1973, still have the ticket) so fingers crossed!!

Re: Greetings from Aberdeen, Scotland

Hi Kenny and welcome aboard to the world of posting!  That's great that you first show Joe in Maryland, Jane H. domain!   Sounds like you have a good line of shows coming up.  BTW, when we  were over in the UK this past May, we made it up to Aberdeen.  Great city, love the granite buildings...

My old man was at the zeppelin gig. Hopefully Joe heads further north than edinburgh or glasgow. We always have to travel 3 or 4 hours. But hey, the shows are worth it!

Re: Greetings from Aberdeen, Scotland

I saw Walter Trout in The Lemon Tree a couple of years ago and thought it was a good venue. Might be a bit on the small side for Joe these days, though. I've also been in The Music Hall. This would probably be more appropriate and if he's playing some new venues this time round then maybe next time he'll head up your way. I'd be there, regardless.

Re: Greetings from Aberdeen, Scotland

David A. - just had Wolfmother cancel on us at the last moment but saw the Nimmo Bros in Glasgow - great blues rock band. Coming up is Fleetwood Mac, Wishbone Ash, Magnum, the JB dates and the annual trip to Amsterdam to see Golden Earring.

Re: Greetings from Aberdeen, Scotland

Re: Greetings from Aberdeen, Scotland

Thanks shevy but we've just been invited to a surprise birthday party in Madrid on 5 December so I'm going to have to give up Edinburgh. Major bummer but at least UFO are on when I'm over there.

Hi Kenny, welcome to the forum smile I'm down the road from you in Edinburgh. Another gig you may wish to add to your list is Aynsley Lister who is playing the Lemon Tree, Aberdeen this Friday night! smile

Thanks Greenose - are you a hibee by any chance?

Missed Lister as I flew to Tenerife that day. Gary Moore was also playing Abdn that night. Typical!!
