"Did you use it as a songwriting tool too, or more of just a recording or editing medium?

Nah, I don’t use Pro Tools as a songwriting tool. Most of the songs I write, I just have a drum track in the background. Just the beat, and either an acoustic or electric guitar. That’s the way I write, then I add vocals and build it from that. Some tracks were recorded as a three-piece with Anton Fig and my bass player. Some tracks I recorded into Pro Tools with a drum machine and Anton played drums to them."

I think their history goes way back. I believe that Anton played drums on the Kiss 'Dynasty' album because Peter Criss had broken his arm in a car crash. Not sure if it was the whole album or just parts of it.

and before that on the Ace Frehley Solo album in '78 I'm pretty sure he was in that too. I remember when I first heard Anton started working with Joe, I thought the name was familiar... So I pulled out an old Frehley's Comet cd, and there he was! Lol...

I was looking through the listings for the Shepherds Bush Empire and noticed that Ace Frehley is playing on Thursday 17th December. Tickets on sale from 09:00 on Friday if you're interested.

He is touring Australia as well. I don't know all of the dates but he is in Melbourne on Monday 19th of October.

Not expecting a lot to be honest, but I would regret if I didn't go. Last time I saw him in Kiss (on the reunion tour) he was very patchy. But he has been sober for 3 years now so hopefully he plays well.
