Re: Hello from Alabama

Michael, if you're on Facebook look for the JBLP owners group.

How about you take the wife and kids to a Joe show for Halloween? Maybe it's an age thing but I'd rather see Joe anytime than just get a bunch of candy. tongue All kidding aside, I sympathize. You know what a fantastic show he puts on and missing one only a hour's drive away due to family commitments has got to be tearing you up.

Congrats on the JBLP aquisition and welcome to the forum!  Maybe you'll have to wait until next year to get it signed but thems the breaks I guess...

I joined the FB group - very cool!

It's definitely not MY age that is the problem - I would rather be at the show - however, I would have a very disappointed 4 year old that really wouldn't understand!!  lol

Re: Hello from Alabama

Hi Micheal.

I'm new here too but I don't have a JBLP  and consequently am exceedingly jealous of anyone that does! Soooo want one of those bad boys. Oh well, one day...

Missing a JB concert to be with your family just goes to show what a dedicated father and husband you are!

Re: Hello from Alabama

Welcome to the forum Michael.
Halloween seems to be a much bigger deal over in the US to here. I don't think there would be too much agonising over choosing between a Joe show and Halloween here....certainly not for me anyway!
It's nice of you to put your family first tho

Not a big deal to adults - but for kids under 10 (I have 3) it's a BIG deal smile

Maybe I can still swing something - how long do Joe's shows normally last??  Do they
start on time or are late like all other acts?!?  Maybe I can leave after the kids go to sleep
and catch the end of the show!

Re: Hello from Alabama

How do?

According to some marketing research I read...Halloween is the biggest ADULT holiday of the year as well in the USA.

Joe's shows almost always start on time (unless he has an opening guest performer) and run 2 hours +/- a couple of minutes.  Even if you miss the first couple of songs it's worth the drive but you already knew that.

If you can't get there in time for the show but still want to get the guitar signed I'd suggest emailing Melissa or one of the moderators (Phil or Jim) as they can contact the powers that be at J&R and possibly get you set up for after the show.
Or you could just hang out by the tour bus after the show... I don't think Joe would refuse to check out and sign one of his "children". Good luck!

Welcome to the forum!  It's not difficult to come by one of Joe's LPs - I have seen two of them for sale in retail shops in the USA. There is one listed right now on EBay - fellow wants $3700 USD but you could make him an offer for less...

Re: Hello from Alabama

Welcome Michael! Man, that is tough, to miss the Trick or Treating, but I think that is a good idea to bring your wife and children. Joe puts on a very good family show! And make sure you bring the guitar for Joe to sign! cool

Re: Hello from Alabama

Congrats on the JBLP!! (Halloween is New Year to some of us..wink wink nod nod) Bravo for being such a good dad. We are not the best group to ask about missing a show, but we do have a soft spot for the young'ins. Sounds like you and the missus need to plan a get away around a show. Welcome to the forum from the resident hag.    Cathy
