Topic: Octavia order on pedal board.

Does anyone know where the Octavia style guitar pedal should go on a pedal board with relation to distortion/overdrive?  I am well aware of the pedal order for everything else, but I have heard the Octavia style pedal is most effective and true to the "Hendrix" sound when placed in front of distortion/overdrive pedals on the pedal board.  Is this true?

Re: Octavia order on pedal board.

As far as I'm aware, hendrix placed distortion almost right at the start, if not at the start. I know he done distortion then wah (which trying myself sounds awful, god knows how he managed to get a good sound that way).
So no doubt he had octavia after distortion too.

Give both a bash, see what works best.

Re: Octavia order on pedal board.

From the "Signature Sounds" DVD, Joe used the Fulltone Octafuzz after his overdrive pedals.  He described it as his "Band Of Gypsies"  Hendrix tone...I'd have to say he nailed it!  For the Hendrix thing I've always had the best luck with this order:  Fuzz--Wah---Octavia---Univibe---Amp.  There are some very cool tones to be had by mixing the pedals around so experiment and have fun!
