hey patty..I'm Richard and Dana's sister Amy. I was at the show last Friday.
great show by the band..loved the music. However...
the people of St Joe really REALLY disappointed me. I suppose there were a lot of people who did not know Joe B who rarely go listen to live music. All I know is I felt very uncomfortable in general, felt the small towners were giving dirty looks and were very unwelcoming. 8 bucks for a ticket, we head in well before Joe's start and set up in front, in the grass, behind the concrete area in front. As soon as the show started of course more people crowded in in front, and where we sat we could not see anyone on stage, so we stood up. BIG MISTAKE. Some A hole started shouting at us to sit down, that "50 people behind you can't see". well buddy, we can't see either, and you don't own the place and your ticket doesn't say everyone is going to stay seated the entire show so your sorry **** doesn't have to ever get up. there were 2 huge screens on either side of the stage, get your butt up and head over there where you can sit all damn nite long until your **** goes numb.
I have never felt so uncomfortable at a show in my entire life. I didn't try to stand the whole show, if I heard a song I couldn't help but dance to I got up. SHOUTING. SIT DOWN. SIT DOWN. SIT DOWN. I wonder how many's experience was ruined by A hole screaming the entire show for people to SIT DOWN. I finally had to leave my spot up front, go over and watch the screen where I was free to enjoy the show without someone being mean. eventually I made my way to the front and found the 1st nice person in all of St Joe..guess what, he wasn't FROM ST JOE.
I wouldn't go back there if the show was free. a 2 hour drive up and back for us to be treated like we were freaks from another planet. I'm a freak who loves Joe B....and I have legs to stand on. I'm still amazed at how rude people were. I have a picture of the crowd, and in all of the 50 faces not ONE SMILE. I hope Joe enjoyed himself...there WERE people there who very much appreciated the music and traveled to hear it.
thanks for the encore MOUNTAIN TIME..my fave! peace be with you!
