Re: Here's one reason why sons shouldn't play their father's guitars.....

$200 seems a little steep for this kind of repair, but if they're the only people around who can do it then they get to charge whatever they want!

Mine was $120 for the repair, same kind of break, and I haven't had any problems with playability whatsoever. I think one of these days I'll take her in to have the crack site done over with lacquer for purely aesthetic reasons...

Slash broke his one day.  Roadie repaired it.  Slash said it played better than ever.

Ben should still pay for repair, but no more fussing.  Next question?

Slash actually gave a Les Paul of his to The Rainbow when he broke the neck doing a dive bomb...hit him right in the face too.

I have a mandolin that is cracked in two places, and somebody tried repairing it. I don't have any idea what kind of mandolin it is either, but I want it fixed because it I inherited it. It's probably a Sears&Robuck of some kind... Silvertone, Kay, etc.

I had a neck break on my LP Studio and it came back better than before, it cost me about $200 but it looks great you really can't tell.
