Sorry for the confusion...that track sounds like a Gibson to me (an ES-335 probably). And, if you have seen his "Signature Sounds" DVD he explains that his amp setup of choice for Gibson guitars is the Budda Superdrive 30 and a Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555. It doesn't sound like he has any overdrive pedals and it's likely just the amp distortion. That album was cut before Joe got deep into the Dumble, Two-Rock, Carol Ann, Fuchs, Van Weelden trip. His amps were primarily Fender, Marshall, and Budda at that time. On the cheap a decent Les Paul/ES-335 or copy into a Budda SD30 (these can be had for $1000-$1400) and Ceriatone Jubilee clone (about $1000) with a little reverb pedal would get you very close. Joe is a big fan of the Fender Princeton in the studio and for his practice rig at home. I bet if you put a nice overdrive pedal in front of that with a little 'verb dialed in it would get scary close (that is if you can play like Joe, and who can).
