Topic: ,Davy Knowles & Back Door Slam in my old Hometown.....

I had the priviledge again to see this great group this time on June 30th in Milwaukee at the world's largest music festival Summerfest. Many friends joined together to watch this show along with the other shows this day. It may have been the best 8 hours of music I've ever seen at one venue. And I've never seen anyone play "Walk On Hot Coals" like this except Rory. Here's some video and pictures of Davy Knowles, PK (bass) and Steve Barci (drums)......

Enjoy,

Roy

P.S. By the way, what you see Davy playing now is a PRS Smokeburst McCarty guitar rather than his teal colored Strat. http://www.prsguitars.com/smokeburstmccarty/index.html

Great job on the video camera again Bubba.....just love that kid, so humble and gracious......neighbors going to see Chickenfoot twice, told him to give a hello from me....my buddy really is getting hooked up these days hanging out Aaron Hagar and partying with the band....so I burned him BDS first album, he was blown away by Davys vocals.....around Sactown there advertising the heck out of the Chickenfoot with BDS opening for them....I called the radio station and talked to the DJ between songs and gave him the scoop on BDS, guess he's going to you tube them and find out for himself before he gets to the gig

Later gator,

Shreddy

P.S.....gonna shave in a few minutes, you know how scary I look with shaving cream covering my ugly mug, guess the dog and cat will be hiding until I finish tongue

Re: ,Davy Knowles & Back Door Slam in my old Hometown.....

Thanks much Dave! I think I've finally found the secret to the "Michael Lynch Hold The Camera Steady" technique although, he has much younger and softer hands than I do. wink

Anyway, all I can say Bubba is get out to see these guys as soon as you can. This truly is a new beginning......And be careful shaving that dome of yours, don't want to scare the neighbors. big_smile

Thanks Roy for the videos. I haven't watched them all yet but I've seen Tear Down The Walls which I really like off the new cd.

Re: ,Davy Knowles & Back Door Slam in my old Hometown.....

Thanks Tripsy! The one that just about made me jump our of my seat was "Walk On Hot Coals" which was the last song of the night. It's been over 35 years since I've seen anyone play this song and to have it played like that in my old hometown, was something truly special. When I saw Rory play it live in Milwaukee the intensity and thrill a minute level that he played it at I thought could never be matched. Davy, PK and Steve exceeded my expectations with what they did with that particular song. I'm sure Rory was looking down and smiling big big_smile as the guys tore into it and blew the large crowd away.
