Re: Studen Loans stink!
Hi Nic,
Congratulations on earning your Masters!!!! Through your own research, you probably already know how B.B. King feels about the value of a good education. I heard of a Medical School student with $300,000 student loan debt...who knows what her future holds with a big change in health care coming...its scary, but somethings gotta' give...
Anyway, I like Gunter's idea and strongly believe in having low rate student loans available, they will always hold the future of your country. Back in the early 80's, the government cut back on student loans, my hubby was in Med school and couldn't get any more loans and his parents were totally tapped out. His dad worked as a carpenter and his mom as a cashier in a super market. He had an uncle who never could have children and ran a construction business, therefore had some savings and loaned him the money to finish med. school...if it wasn't for him, he would of have to drop out of school two-thirds done. We both had student loans to pay down when we got married. His earnings during his residency was below poverty level. He was able to defer his loans a couple of times until he earned money.
