Topic: Les Dudek-Moondog's 6-26-09

Ok last night I was Blown away from a studio-legend named Les Dudek....Wow...what a 3 piece in your face performance. It was like witnessing Pat Travers meets Robin Trower!
I had asked him about some of his songs sounding like Pat's & he replied that he sometimes james w/him since they both live in Florida...Needless to say I was coverted & reborn with a good butt kicken night of Rock & Blues. I hope he comes back around soon....!!!!!
p/s did anyone know he played 2nd lead on Allman Bros "Ramblin man"..& supposedly co wrote "Jessica" and never got any creidt/royalties from Mr Dickie Betts???

Glad to see Les back on the circuit the last couple of years. A little more Les trivia, he and Cher were an item for a few years. Yikes!!!

Always liked Les very much.

I bought his  LP's : Les Dudek, Say no More and Ghost Town Parade when they were released.
After that he was married with Cher and he did other things than making fabulous music!

I hope to see him live once.

Pat Travers was  another icon in the seventies. In the beginning he played more hardrock like music, very loud.
I never forget the first time I saw him playing live at  the Stokvishal in Arnhem. It was so loud! After the show I started the car, a Renault 4, which normally made a lot of noise, but I kept on starting again and again. Rudi went out and noticed that the engine was running all the time. I couldn't hear anything anymore thanks to Pat!

He comes to Holland quite often, saw him several times, when he comes I always go to a show. he's great.
His best album: Boom Boom from 1991., recorded live in Toronto at the Diamond Club by Castle Communications. I bought it in Strassbourg France at  FNAC. Never saw that |CD in Holland.
If you can get it do it!
I also have a live show from Pat in the Pan in Silvolde from 1996 , a friend taped it on his DAT recorder in the audience and I put it on CD. Not the best quality but gives a good idea how he played in the nineties.

Wow! I haven't heard his name in years! I have both Say No More and Ghost Town Parade on vinyl and I can't remember the last time I gave them an airing.
Time to take a trip down memory lane methinks!
